  1. Had a couple of Fords towed into the shop where I used to work with those switches tripped. Right after one of those big thumpin' sub woofers was installed next to the switch in the trunk.
  2. I sprayed all front suspension bushings with used brake fluid, lubes good and helps preserve the rubber. No more sqeaks on my 51.
  3. We get that magazine too. Lots of good old time stuff in it.
  4. The head would be all that I need and would have to be in very good to excellent condition. Thanks for looking.
  5. A Plodge is a Canadian Dodge. Dodge front clip and badges, all Plymouth from the cowl back.
  6. It's identical to the one in my 51 Regent other than the handle. Mine is chrome. My 51 parts car has the plastic handle. Jeez that plaid interior is ugly.
  7. Wasn't me.I've had no dealings with anyone on here, but I would like to find a radio for my 51 Plodge. Don't care if it works, just has to look good.
  8. This should say reconnect each wire and then ground out.
  9. A jumper wire connected to a head bolt and to the shaft of a long screwdriver and then touch the end of the screwdriver to each plug wire works real good also. If you have insulated plug wires, remove one at a time and make a u shape out of a paper clip, insert one end into the plug wire between the metal contact and the rubber boot pointing up, then ground each wire out with the screwdriver and jumper wire. You will find the dead cylinder.
  10. Good stuff Merle. Upshift-double clutch,downshift-no clutch, just let off the gas and with slight pressure out of gear let it fall out, slight rev of engine and light pressure into next lower gear, let it fall in.
  11. Just read some of my post's and the responses to them. Just my own personal opinion.
  12. Now,now, don't be badmouthin' GM stuff on here. Ask me how I know.
  13. An old style analog ohm meter is the best test for any bulb. Also clean all connections including grounds before replacing any bulb.
  14. Right. Ride like you are invisible to everyone else on the road.
  15. Yeah that sounds like a coil going bad to me .
  16. Thanks for the backup. I have no problem with modern upgrades, I'm not a restoration only guy,but I strongly think it should be all mopar.
  17. I can't put in words how it makes me feel to hear how a good looking, good running truck like this will be whored out to the GM freaks. Are there no chevy or gmc trucks left? I don't care who this piss's off. Kick me out of here if you want.
  18. Better put your firesuit on Uncle pekka
  19. Like I said before I've only heard it referenced as s10 or GM. If it came in Jeeps then what can I say? I'm not up on what Jeeps run. Okay you win.
  20. I'm located New Brunswick Canada. I have a 1951 Dodge Regent 4 door sedan 218 flathead 3 on the tree completly stock other than interior. My daily driver is a 89 Ram,Wife's driver is a 97 Caravan. Have a 55 Fargo project on the go, will be on a 88 Dakota frame with 90 Ram running gear. Have a field full of various mopars to pick from for parts. I'd love to go for a ride in your car,I'm sure it works fine but I have no plans to be in that area. I've driven my 51 all over the Maritime Provinces including the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and also around the Gaspe Penninsula in Quebec with no trouble.
  21. By the way, some of you guys that were unloading on me, under your name it says " I breathe vintage mopar!". Bit of a conflict there don't you think?
  22. Okay I'll give you that. But anytime I've seen it mentioned it was always reffered to as a s10 or GM t5.
  23. I do spend time reading old posts. I have no problems with modern upgrades,I'm currently in the process of putting a 55 Fargo cab,85 8ft. Dodge stepside on a 88 Dakota frame with a 90 318 throttle body injection, auto od trans. I don't like trailer queens either. Maybe I came on a little too strong with my pro mopar statements if so I apologize to anyone I offended. But my view remains the same. Keep mopars all mopar.
