  1. I talked to the guy that sold me the rad and their sending me a 52 plymouth radiator and a free electric fan. I told him that I think it might be too tall. He said if this one doesn't fit Ill get my money and shipping back. Well see.
  2. I think that the main issue are that the flanges on the sides are at an angle instead of straight up and down. The company suggested me having a welder move the side flanges. I might just repair the original and call it a day.
  3. Champion off eBay. I spoke to the company again today they have not offered any solution. Just to call someone else. I agree that nothing is made to fit 100 % but this radiator requires me to modify it in a way that voids the warranty.
  4. Today's Monday and I got the radiator in. Unfortunately the radiator does not fit. And after calling the company. It does not even seem to be the right radiator for my car. The company told me that they thought the 53 and 54 plmouth radiator are the same and that the radiator was made off of that design. They think that the 52 radiator might work, I don't think so. Hopefully I can return it and have the original cleaned.
  5. Mondays the delivery date I'm gonna start installing the pusher fan
  6. I finally ordered it today, 3 row keeping my fingers crossed
  7. I have decided to go with the new radiator for the 54 plymouth, but what's the difference between the 2 and the 3 row? Does the three row cool better? I'm in Denton tx and the heats raising my temps.
  8. I've been a bit more serious about getting my car up on the road now. So I decided to pull the rad out to get a leak repaired and cleaned. Of course back in the day it used to run me about 35 bucks. Now it's 175$ and no guarantee. I saw the 3 core rads on eBay and wondered if anyone has had success with the during the summer. Jut 35 bucks more for a new aluminum. What do you guys thin is it worth it.
  9. Ok it's been a while. I removed the wheels checked the brakes and did not find anything wrong. So I bled the brakes put the wheels back on and still had the same problem. Finally I started to remove the drive shaft to take the tranny out and whoa, big surprise. My rear passenger tire was right up against the exhaust. Wow problem solved.
  10. I'll check the brake this weekend
  11. I brought the 11 quarts of oil to do the change today. So I started up the car and ran it through neighborhood to try to hear for any strange noises. I figured out the problem may not be the trans but the differential after the right wheel kind of locked and loosened when I idled forward. After moving back and forth the car started to seem ok. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  12. The strange thing is I took it out today and ran it up and down the block and it changed gears fine. But as soon as I let it on idle and put it in drive it didn't move forward until I pressed the gas pedal.
  13. I havent changed the fluid in years. But i dont really drive the car at all. I guess I'm going to have to rebuild.
  14. That's what I thought at first but I added fluid and I stll have the same problem
  15. I have a 54 Plymouth with a powerflite tranny. I haven't been driving a whole lot since I've been working on the appearance. Today I turned the car on and pulled it out of the garage ok. But, when I put it in drive it would not idle forward. I pressed the gas and it made a clunk sound and kind of hopped forward little by little. I put it in reverse again and it went revers ok, but when I tried going forward it badly moved and just stops and goes forward little by litte. Any advice would help.
