  1. The three pads are molded on. I would think the pad with them molded on pads (thicker one)would be on the inside to insulate the frame and steering box and the thinner pad would be on the outside???
  2. I received my steering box to frame Insulators from Bernbaum. I was very pleased, I got them in one day and the quality seems good. Does anyone know the correct orientation of the pads? I am not sure but I think my original pads are on wrong? Should the thicker pad be on the inside against the steering box? My original ones have the thicker one on the outside is this correct? I attached some pics. New pads Is this outer pad installed correctly? ??? Inside original pad?
  3. I am sure this has come up before but what do you guys think are the hardest to find Mopar options and parts?
  4. It is Long Island NY. I was thinking the same thing, I told my wife it looks like an insurance scam. Why would he have that nice car out in the worst storm in 20 years, parked on the grass under a tree? It looks like he does care about the car though, because he put plastic over the window.
  5. Yes, I thought that was very high also.
  6. The before and after of the car is amazing. I wouldnt attempt that with my car and it is in way better shape than what she started with. Also my garage is twice the size of what she had to work with.
  7. Sure does help, thank you
  8. I didnt have a problem either.
  9. I just found my manual and it looks like it is just the insulators to frame no gasket. The torque value is 45-50 ft. lbs.
  10. But there is no gasket between the Insulator and box, right? Just an easy R and R?
  11. I purchased a new pair of steering box to frame insulators today. My old ones are in bad shape. Will this change any adjustments when I install the new ones? Is the inner insulator a seal too or is the box a sealed unit? Also anyone know what the torque value is on the bolts?
  12. Check this out A new show on HDTH, This girl has talent:eek:!!!
  13. I like it Bop You and Patrick should get together http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=17989
  14. The past couple of days have been in the mid to high 60's . I guess all the bad weather blew away with the storm. GREAT driving weather
  15. Here you go!
  16. Thats right I forgot. Its a local newspaper(NEWSDAY) and you can only view the website if you order the local cable (CABLEVISION). They just started doing that about a month or two ago. The first link shows what I think is a 1948 Merc hot rod with a tree on it. The second link are pictures of the damage on the island. I will try to post the picture different.
  17. Alot of people on the island finally got power back today.
  18. Not sure if you guys know about the storm we had on Long Island this past weekend. They say it was the worst one in over 20 years. I came across this photo and thought you guys would enjoy it. Bob T, does this remind you of anything? http://www.newsday.com/users/user-content/users-storm-photos-1.1812775?image=16 Some more pics http://www.newsday.com/long-island/li-storm-destruction-aftermath-photos-1.1809953
  19. Steel Rubber wants $90.40 for the steering housing to frame insulators https://secure.steelerubber.com/ And Birnbaum wants $35.00 http://www.oldmoparts.com/s.htm I went with Burnbaum because of the cost. I figure they will be better than what is on the car now even if the quality is not that good. I will give an update when I receive them.
  20. Mine Smells also, even with a PCV Valve.
  21. Take a video if you can
  22. Marty, are you saying the rubber parts are the gaskets or there are gaskets also. If so do you have any part #'s
  23. How big of a job is it to change the rubber pads between the steering box and frame? Can you just unbolt, pull out the old and install the new?
  24. I cleaned the head/new gasket, installed new rings and bearings about a year and a half ago, So things should still be pretty clean. I just want to stay on top of it. I am thinking I should do it annually. Like a spring cleaning for my engine.
  25. WoW really:eek:? Do you pour it in or spray it in when you do it?
