  3. Hi Arthur: This thread might intrest you http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=9433 ...you will likely get a universal type waterpump that will look different than yours but still work hope this helps Jim
  4. :o I guess I should have paid more attention to what I wrote down it is accualy a 1954 Dodge Regent....that should make it easier for someone to help. Thanks for bringing that to my attention Jim
  5. Hi Everyone: I was talking with an old friend the other day who has a '54 wayfare and is in desperate need of a windshield, does anyone know if there is new glass available for this car? if so where whould someone get it? if not has anyone got a good used one? Is there other models that fit? any leads would be a big help. Thanks Jim
  6. Oh I wouldn't walk away because of the smell....after all, all it takes to get rid of it is to remove the source, remove the complete interior, while you are there you might as well fix the floors and oh that wiring doesn't look so good better rewire the car, then you can paint your floors, before you steam clean and reinstall the interior you might just as well do whatever bodywork is neccessary then at least shoot a coat of epoxy primer on it. All those welding, bodywork and paint smells will have your pride and joy smelling like a new car in no time.......see easy:) Jim
  7. You could prep and paint the window areas with body color or even a color match spray bomb prior to installing the glass then leave your glass in when you go to paint of coarse you will have to mask accordingly. I had a heck of a time getting the smells out of my car that the mice left.....I can't imagine what your car would smell like after one of those critters living in there for the winter. Jim
  8. Clever!!!! Thanks. Jim
  9. Ok so I have got my water pump and my rad back in and before filling the rad I started to second guess myself. Because I am not going to put my heater back in untill I get a chance to repair it should I hook a heater hose from the outlet on the back of the block to the inlet on the waterpump or should I just put short pieces of hose with plugs in them to seal them up? Also when installing a thermostat what is the order in how it goes.... is it thermostat, gasket, housing or gasket, thermostat, housing? Thanks in advance Jim
  10. I do have the extra hole in the block but mine is set up as an external bypass...now all I got to do now is get it running again, having problems getting it started after the fuel pump change....don't expect it is much but will have to get back to it after the weekend......it's party time!!!!!
  11. your right about it being a universal type deal...as far as bolting it up I am waiting for the paint to dry as we speak. Jim
  12. Well here is a few pics of them side by side. I have used arrows to try to show the where they are different. The first one shows a square port on the original and a round threaded port on the new one. The second one kinda shows where there is an extra hole in the back plate that the original did not have I suspect this is the bypass that you have me so curious about. The third shows an extra port and the 2 bosses that are 1/4 in taller than the original and the other boss is about 1.5 in taller and the fourth shows the extra port (came with a plug to plug this port) and a boss that is approx 1.5 in taller than the original (came with a longer bolt) I guess my only concern is the extra hole in pic # 2 Jim
  13. I think I will Pass on the Porta walls as I plan on doing alot of highway driving and don't want to take a chance that these things are going to make funny noises at highway speed. The Idea was good,I haven't heard anything negative about how they look and I am sure they are alot cheaper than wide whites. Jim
  14. Bears are a big problem up here.....in the cities as well as the country for some reason there seems to be a large population of them, probably due to the cancelation of the spring bear hunt. I like seeing them though. Did he look like this one.....I left the bike running when I took this one. Jim
  15. It would lead a fella to belive that the ones without the bowl are no longer available Jim
  16. Kinda nice you fellas can meet up like that.....enjoy Jim
  17. Well I was hoping that even though this pump is slightly diffrent that I would still be able to use it but I am starting to have my doubts...aside from this new internal/external bypass revilation I will be able to tell if it will physicaly fit tomorrow. Jim
  18. Thank you shel_bizzy_48 I will contact Antique Auto Cellar and get a fuel pump kit....my parts guy said the pump he got me was the last in captivity. be nice to have a fresh one for a spare. Jim
  19. Thanks Dan that is exactly what I am looking for. Jim
  20. So I am under the impression this is not the original engine.....intresting. Jim
  21. Norm's Coupe I will check my manual again but I don't rember seeing anything like that in there. norrism1 I would have thought it would have started with a C as well but there is clearly an M there
  22. So I got the # off the front left corner of the block it is M11490C can anyone Break this # down. just tring to confirm this is still the original engine. Jim
  23. Hey everyone: Can anyone tell me if someone is selling rebuild kits for the fuel pumps or water pumps on these old cars? I might rebuild mine for spares. Jim
  24. I found a rust hole in the bottom of my heater box so I removed the unit from the car to have a better look, the heater core is good but wow the box itself is tough I think I can rebuild it if I had to. Has anyone had to redo the metal work around there heater core? Jim
  25. I took my water pump into my part supplier the other day and he said he didn't think he could get a new one but to leave it with him and he would see what he could do..well this morning he called and said he found a new one but when I went to pick it up it wasn't quite the same but still might work I will post pics tomorrow. He also said that he sent the old pump to Fenco to have it rebuilt and they sent it back saying that it was not rebuidable because they no longer have a source for bushings. Has anyone else encountered this? has anyone made there own bushing? I am sure it would not be that hard. Jim
