I bought wheel cylinders from napa earlier this summer. they were easy to find and i think they may have even been in stock. the part numbers
right front top-10581
right front bottom-10583
left front top-10580
left front bottom-10582
both of the rears are the same and the number is-10588
the bolts holding the shoes on were pretty hard to get off, but when in doubt use a bigger hammer. hope this helps
I haven't gotten the package yet, but that is because I haven't been home for awhile so it could be there. The previous owner must have sprayed over surface rust because the paint on the trunk fell off.
here is a picture of before and after I painted. The previous owner actually painted the whole car with krylon spray paint about five years ago.
I used spray cans on my trunk. they worked well but gave a grainy texture that I'm not really sure how to get rid of. I got mine at Auto Value and they color matched to my car using a special digital camera that they could take the paint codes from. Good luck with your paint my car will need to be painted soon too, but that is one of the last steps after everything else is fixed.
P 15's attract women? this is news to me. for me all it has been is older men no offense. anyway the guys i meet at car shows are half of the reason i go.
you might be 200 miles further norht but you are still 10 degrees warmer. now that isnt fair at all. its been in the 50s here all week. here being in fargo.
Where have you found your interior pieces such as a head liner and seat covers. i need to do mine as well but the car only came with two bows and no cover to use as a pattern. does anybody have any ideas? it is a 48 4dr special deluxe. thanks
I went to napa without any numbers and was able to get cylinders for my 48 without any problem. They even found them in the computer. try napaonline for starters and then go from there.
When i fixed my horn I needed to pull the ammeter, it had not been reading very high amperage and decided to test it and it would not read. Does anyone know where I could find a new ammeter. Or can i buy a universal and then use the face to the one I have. Thanks
I've done my front brakes too but other then that i repainted the trunk lid and cleaned it up. we have been taking it to shows just for fun and cruise nights just driving the car for fun.
I'm from minnesota so im lucky with the amount of rust on the car. i finished the job this afternoon. the whole project cost me only 59 cents. it will be great to have the horn next summer. thanks for your help. this would have taken me a lot longer without the forum. And thank you for the compliement. what color is your car steve. it looks great in the sun? I need to repaint mine eventually and Im searching for a new color. that is closer to origanal. red was only on the convertibles.
my relay has four prongs: one to the coil, one to the horns, one to the horn ring, and the 4th is supposed to go to the ammeter (or so it shows on the diagram). i do know that my horns work. is there any way to test if the relay is good or bad? I saw a 46 at a car show and that one had a three prong relay directly below the horns but mine is on the right fender.
