  1. Thank you,appreciate it greatly
  2. I would like to try to get the Build Sheet for my '47 Dodge Custom. Can you please provide me with the contact information ( address, web site), thanks?
  3. Facing exact same issue, same location. No luck yet finding a donor. Thinking of using the rat rod example given above, gonna be a challenge for sure. My need is for a 1947 Dodge Custom. Following for ideas.
  4. I had the same issue with my body mount sites, that ran from under the door sill/rocker panels. The brackets attached to the actual frame were good 😊 ther that the rubber mounts and bolts being rusted/rotted away. I just removed the brackets running from the outer edges of the door sills /rocker panels to the frame brackets and fabricated new ones. My car has body mount brackets at each door pillar, front, center, and rear, and a much smaller one in between those three. They appear to me to take on a lot of weight(doors mainly) outside the main frame and body. Your pics of the door pillar / mount bracket area is almost identical to mine and the floor pan areas. I think they should be replaced, they carry a lot of weight, door sills, door pillars and doors.
  5. Thanks for the pics, are spot on for the area I need to fabricate. Been searching every site I have been provided.Nothing yet. I have fabricated new rocker panels, installed new body mounts, lot of floor pan repairs/replacement. Will.start total rewire this weekend. Unfortunately, very few parts,if any from the Plymouths will interchange with the Dodge and Chryslers. The pics help a lot

  7. Clarkede, thanks for the response. I have seen this, and may help fabricating something that fit my Dodge. Haven't been able to find anything for a Dodge as yet. Hoping actual pics from different angles would help more, again thanks
  8. Great project, appreciate all the pics and info. Am currently working on my '47 Dodge Custom, seem like everytime I start in one area I find myself going down another rabbit hole. The lip,/panel below the trunk lid is totally gone on mine. Was wondering if you had any pics of that area on your car, especially if you have made any repairs to that area. Have included a few pics of the area I am interested in. Again any pics or advice would be appreciated, thanks
  9. I have a 1947 Dodge Custom, D 24, 7 passenger Sedan. Haven't been able to locate a VIN Number. There is a plate attached to the front driver side door post which has a serial number. Was this year and model registered/ titled by VIN Number or Serial Number? Thanks in advance for any info.
  10. Looks great, hope you consider offering your talent and skill to those of us interested in buying a set
  11. Looks great.
  12. Thanks will check it out.
  13. Want to replace the body mounts( rubber cushions) on 47 d24, 7 passenger Sedan. Anyone know the part number, or some sources for them, thanks
  14. I hear you.. body working tools are somewhat reasonably priced, it's when you buy the blades, discs, bits and such that you have secure a 2nd house mtg to get them.
  15. Cleaning and clearing the interior , front, rear, and limo fold down seats, carpeting and upholstery trim removed. Finally got a real look at the extent of replacement/repair needed. No real surprises. Lol, the front seat weighs as much as a house sofa, and the fold down limo seats aren't much lighter.
  16. Welcome aboard,nice auto
  17. Looks great, looks comfortable, great job, thanks for sharing.
  18. Finally a few steps forward, got all the chrome trim removed, old windows out, and today got the trunk lid, many thanks to joe. Also have removed all the old upholstery and carpets. Replenishing my tool box so the real work can begin.
  19. Thanks, hope it will come together. Have been looking around for the rear end area,no luck as yet but still hoping to go that way.
  20. Thanks, appreciate all the info I can get. I have projects of similar complexity and degree. Fortunately I have done auto body repair in the past, in fact worker in a body repair shop years ago. Of course back then had full access to a lot more tools and equipment. Have also done residential and auto upholstery. Have to admit looking forward to the interior work more than the exterior.
  21. I have asked myself the same questions, for sure. And I really do understand and appreciate where you are coming from. The challenges here are many to say the least and I probably have not considered or even recognized some. And the truth be told, at 74 yo, I may never even get to drive it , or even ride in the car,but my family will. The mechanical, body repair, and upholstery challenges are many ,but we are up to the tasks and the looking forward the rewards.
  22. I agree, I have seen and used this paper/ cardboard tack strip in upholstery work I gave done, really works very well and very versatile material.
  23. Also want to give a shout out to Joe, was able to get a trunk lid and bottom latch from him. Great guy, trying to figure out a way to send him some warm, sunny Florida weather to repay him,LOL. It is good to have our members come to our rescue.
  24. No sentimental value as far as it being in the family previously. It will become such as my two grandsons and I are going to do our best to restore. We all enjoy working on cars, and know the time and effort spent together restoring, to us ,will be more meaningful than if spent fishing, or hunting, or setting in a sports stadium or in front of a TV set. We do realize the amount of time, and money, and probable frustration it can cost, but it will be worth every bit of it. Family, quality family time and the memories we make together on this project are priceless.
  25. Want the thank all that responded to my request for help in finding a trunk lid for my Dodge project. A lot of information and possible sources was offered and appreciated. Especially want to thank joecoozie. He has been working with me for several says now and a bright light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to you all, hope I can return the favor one day.
