    First off, welcome!!! The frame is stout enough for modification. Search 'suspension' in this forum for a lot of useful info. That's not a '51. It's a '48-'50. If the parking brake is on the floor it's a '48 or '49. If it's on the dash, it's a '50. There is also a kit to add discs to the original front axle. Swap in a Jeep Grand Cherokee rear axle for rear disc brakes. Keven
