  7. It was only 105 today but they say that it's going to get warm next weekend, they say it's going to be from 110 to 115.

  9. When I went to the bank yesterday the outside temp was 102F, The engine temp in the 48 did not go over 180. I am running a stock rad with a 180 t/stat. I run a 50/50 antifreeze mix with 1 bottle of Water Wetter. Dennis:cool:

  13. This is from Off-Road Adventures, About the Furd Y Block Engine Dennis:cool: The 292 V8 was long in the tooth when it finally left the Ford truck line in 1964. The basic design had a proven reliability record over about 10 years in service. One of the unusual features of this engine was the crossover pipe on front of the engine. It fed the left manifold into the right, which then had to carry the flow of both banks out the pipe. This no doubt limited upper rpm power with lots of exhaust restriction. A HD version was available for larger trucks that cranked out ten more hp than the standard engine.

  18. I noticed it more in the 56 Chevy than the P15, but our mechanic (son) said it helps so I put it in both cars. The 327 ci in the 56 used to run at about 200now it runs at 180. Dennis:cool:
  19. Did you replace the Water Dist tube? My 218 runs at 180 even when the outside temp is over 110 degrees F. I have a new water dist tube, a 180 degree thermostat, a boild out rad with a 50/50 antifreeze mix & 1 bottle of water wetter. Dennis:cool:
