I sent him an E-Mail asking about the engine serial number and he said that he would get back to my after dinner with the number if there is one.

You would have to play a recording of a Flat 6 running, like this one Arthur1947 did, and mount speakers under the car so it would be heard..

I bought my 48 Plymouth in September 2001. Two weeks later, With a Wash & Wax job, we took it to the Super Run in Henderson, Nv and won a trophy.

The first part of 69 I was a member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club.
We then went out and recovered Apollo 11. Then at the end of 69 I finished my enlistment and got out of the Navy, so I didn't have time for Woodstock.

When we went to the Tucker Covention in Las Vegas, we talked to Philip Egan who was a Automotive designer for Tucker, he told us that there were only 51 Tuckers made and he could account for each one.
We were sorry to hear that he passed away in 2008.

I live in the Mojave Desert area of Calif. where the summer temp reaches well over 100F mark. I run a 50/50 mix of antifreeze with 1 bottle of WaterWetter in my vehicles. The 48 Plymouth has a 180degree thermostat and it runs at 180-190.

You can also get them from Roberts Motor Parts.

A buddy of mine had the same problem with his Dodge P/U, it was a short in the alarm system, The dealer didn't set the alarm when they parked it in the service bay, so the problem didn't show up until the dealer drove the truck home and then had to call the tow truck to pick him up.

Look Here in the Referance Area of this site. Go about half way down the page and you will find,

The 34F temp was at 7AM on Saturday, right now 6AM Monday it is 39F. The highs have been in the mid 70's. I don't know if I want to go back down the mountian as they say it's going to be in the triple digets at home.
Well I think I'll go drown some worms.
Dennis;)
It sure did it was 34F when I left the condo to go to the show yesterday and it was 37F This morning when we went to watch the awards be given out, sure glad that we put our jackets in at the last minute.
Dennis:rolleyes:
When I left the condo this morning to go to the car show it was 34F, I left Barstow yesterday and it was 104 drive 50 minutes and the low was 34 and the high was 75 today. What a way to celabrate the first day getting Social Security.
Dennis:eek:
My only problem is that the doc would not let me bring the Plymouth up for the show. He thinks that I tried to do too much this last week and strained my neck and now it is swollen where they did the carotid surgery and it hurts to turn my head. eek:

That's the one, They said that they had the original frame & running gear stored in a garage in Arizona.
The wife of the guy who owned the car in 2004 was raised here in Barstow and went to school with the president of our car club.

I wished that I would of known that he was there as that is about 20 miles away from my house.
We went to the Tucker Convention a few years ago when it was in Las Vegas. we were wearing t-shirts with photos of our 48 Plymouth on them, and the people at the convention treated us like we were part of their family. We got to meet Preston's cousin and a guy who worked with Preston, they took us inside the roped off area and showed us the cars up close and even let Kathy set in one.

Here is one that was at the Fun Run at Big Bear Lake a few years ago.
