  1. Arthur, you are good. I am a big fan of Dexter, is that for the show? Some of this looks slightly like the "posterization" effects of the 80s but so much sharper. Also somehow reminds me a bit of the 1930s Russian art( the last pic). Very cool. Eric
  2. Here's a local bar and a local car. The Bar was down where the Stockyards was. A rough area with a rough car. All abandoned.
  3. A few more at same show.
  4. I had never been to this show before but saw a few nice cars. The car has been in one family from new.
  5. Frankie, I am 85 miles north of ya. I bet Menudo is close to ya. We have had an influx of south of the border food for the past 40 years, Meat Packing town. We need the divirsity in cusine badly. Eric
  6. I think auctioneering is an on the edge business. Even the largest, most respectible auction houses get themselves in troubles by shorting the buyer or the seller or both!!. It is a tough business because people get emotional on both ends. The houses also will quickly authenticate material that is very iffy. We used to go to a neat little street auction in a very small Nebraska town. You could put anything you wanted on the curb, get a number and have the auctioneer sell it. I would take stuff that I didn't care what I got as long as it was gone. I came out pretty good. A few sellers would bid most of their own stuff up because they didn't want to se it go cheap. Heck they paid 10% to keep on owning it. They also lost the cash they could have gotten from selling it. I met a lot od dealers who had booths in Flea Markets. The smart ones treated them like retail. You moved the product. If had to mark it down below your purchase price, so be it. MOve it and use the money to try something else. Eric
  7. It is a great looking car. I wouldn't know what was correct on the car but I sure love the looks of it. I like the white steering wheel. Is that on all 1941s? I am surprised by the wood under the front seat. I have never seen one of these up close. I would like to. Eric
  8. Collector Plates? Like china with painted scenes from "Gone With The Wind" on them , limited edition ( only 500,000). State Birds, Calendars, Star Wars. I think the list is endless. Eric
  9. This car has probably held up better than the people in the ad. Eric
  10. Isn't a shill used to jack up the price? My brother bought a caddy years ago, was always going to fix it up but finally was persuaded by his wife to get rid of it. He knew a guy who worked for an auction business. The friend asked him how much he wanted and said he would get that for him. He said "the man in the rafters" would bid it up. It worked. Not honest but the other bidders can stop anytime. There was a seller at BJ a year or so ago that sued them saying they shut the bidding off too early. Howard is this what happened to you? They could do this for friends. It happens at local auctions, and quite often the item ends up in the auctioneer's hands. It is one crazy business. Eric
  11. Nice looking car. I like that color. I think it was one of the more common colors when new but don't see it now. Eric
  12. Hmm, don't blink. 40 will seem like a long time ago. Looks like you have three great things to look forward to. Four, if you count the car. The kids will definitely give you some excitement. Congratulations. Happy Birthday. Eric
  13. Steve, It is looking fantastic. Eric
  14. If I was running the Packers and Farve showed up to play against us, I would show him crying like a baby at his retirement announcement on the Big Screen. (Hey do they even have one of them there screens in Cheese Stadium? ) He is one more reason why I stopped watching football regularly. Curling, there's a sport!! Eric
  15. Bob, that is nice looking from here. Good price if it is complete and clean. They (39) are a good looking car. Eric
  16. Greg, is that why you want 7 of these? (8amp). I think the 12 v output is what you want. I think there must be a simplier way to make a hefty one. I don't know the "way or how" so I ain't of much use !! :0 Eric
  17. I have no idea. There really wasn't much for text that I found. Looks like he ran a parts yard of some sort. There a many different buildings from what I could see. Some of the parts seem well organized with engines in front of the cars while others seem just parked and forgotten. Eric
  18. Fred, I am betting ( no great brain power used here) that the guy is certifiably crazy. Heck we had a guy kill his girl friend, her kids and then went across town to kill some guy he knew. It blew away the cops, bodies all over town. This happened a few weeks before 9/11/01. He plead guilty and it all went away, no explanation. That is a sure sign he was nuts!! Anyhow. These terrible things happen. I feel terrible for the poor people on the bus and the victim. A lot of therapy. Eric
  19. You can't let this stuff freak you out. Dogs give birth to tigers? Bus kills Man. Nothing changes except for the speed in which the news travels and the fear that the Media sells. It must be popular because a lot of people watch. I have that twisted side like many. We like being scared. One of the reasons for Amusement parks I guess. The bus story is horrific. It could happen anywhere. Eric
  20. Most are foreign to me ( literally) but some looked pretty interesting. The inside ones looked ok but some of the outside ones looked like they were going to lose the battle with Mother Nature. Eric
  21. I like. I don't know what it looked like before but it sure looks like the 1950s to me. Eric
  22. Tony, That Ute is a beaut!!. Eric
  23. Kevin, The guy is high skilled. He is also a glutton for punishment!! I liked the "bubble top". I also like his VW Kambi truck or whetever they are called. Eric
  24. Why? Not the sharing kind? Eric
  25. There might be a Plymouth or a Dodge in there somewhere. 300+ cars. Most I had never seen before but fun to look at.http://www.sportscarmarket.com/garage/slideshow.php Eric
