  1. I always put additive gasoline in my three antique cars. These days I heard that common gasoline is better than additived for antiques.Who knows about this stuff?
  2. I will check first all the primary circuit if it is not shorting with an ohmmeter. If the primary circuit is shorting, the current will not arrive in the breaker arm. Please check it first.
  3. I did the second test today running in the other climb and no problem.
  4. Hi guys.I did a test today with five paper gaskets in the fuel pump and it was approved running in the various types of climb.
  5. Share to us this easy reversable modification.Send pics. Thanks for your inputs.
  6. Don't know yet.I will do the test today or tomorrow. Now I am observing if there is leak yet.Don't have heat shield.I don't know what means "vapor lock" and what it do(?).
  7. My fuel system only have fitting on outlet pump. The leak was in the pump because the rubber(5mm) damaged.I put another filter between tank and pump.My PU always had only one filter between pump and carburetor(since 1987).
  8. Now trying with special paper gaskets(1,6mm x 5=8mm)
  9. I changed the filter and tried to start and saw a leak on the floor.I went under the pump and saw this leak in this screw with yellow color where the thick rubber damaged per gasoline action. Now I will choose another material, not rubber.
  10. It stalls climbing (running) in 3rd shifting, only in this situation.I am suspecting too to the distributor spring/weight and vacuum chamber.
  11. The rate of flow is the same in S1 and S2.I will try this major filter.
  12. 1.I always is checking the brackets in the plastic hose 2.there is no fitting between tank and pump 3.My pump is pumping well 4.there is no pinched line 5.No float level incorrect, because my PU already ran very well, including in 2nd and 3rd shifting.
  13. The hose is 7mmx11mm or 9/32"x7/16".
  14. Thanks guys. But my friend(mechanic) thinks that my only fuel filter between pump and carb is causing air leak.I am suspecting too that my problem is my distributor vacuum chamber copper lining.I re-did the ends of the copper lining. My problem is when I begin to climb a simple road in 3rd shifting it begin to faults.Do you understood me?My pump and carb is ok.
  15. 251 engine vacuum chamber washers(8-27-312) are 0.010", 0.032" or 0.065" thick?
  16. I ask if you have any experience about to put fuel filter between carburetor and fuel pump.Is this procedure possible to cause a bad functioning of the engine when in 2nd and 3rd shifting? Thanks.
  17. How to choose a correct type(number) of Carter B&B carburetor for my IND 251 Chrysler engine?
  18. Thanks for your input.A friend spoke this same to me.I can try your experiment.
  19. My 251 CARTER fuel pump was still without sufficient stroke to send gasoline to the carburetor. The engine starts and stop to function.I spent 2(two) months to know my problem was still my pump without sufficient stroke.Today I put a thick rubber gasket between the two parts of the pump to INCREASE the stroke.See pics.
