  1. The way things have been going, probably be another month and a half or so. It's taken a little longer than we'd like, but.....as we know the contractor personally, and he does good work.....and, we continue to hear horror stories from other people about what builders did or didn't do to them.......we are happy to wait.
  2. I think there was a pretty recent thread regarding the inner and outer rockers. Can't recall the details. Don't know if they talked about where the mounts are located. Welcome.....where do you live?? Inquiring minds want to know. Any pictures of your car you could post?
  3. I think Greg knows "cut and paste" pretty well.
  4. Is that a Dodge?? Some of those COE's are pretty cool looking. Ever see the orange one that the guy drives on Storage Wars tv show?
  5. Well Reg, it's been kinda slow lately. Finally got the electricity reconnected; now waiting for gas meter. They need some heat to lay tile on some floors. View of the rear including Mary Ann's favorite - the screened in porch. And, Dale is making progress on the car.....working now on the paint.
  6. Originally Posted by Tom Skinner .......... I think Don Coatney is a genius re-doing that oil pan the way he did. Well all I can say is we sure have a lot of smart fellars on this forum. I learn something everytime I open this Forum! I guess we could call Don's work something like "Tennessee Technology".
  7. Sounds like a good fix, and cheap too. Kind of like I used large rubber washers as substitutes for the boots on the brake and clutch pedals.....that come up against the floorboard to keep out air. Not very expensive.....from those drawers full of small stuff at Lowe's. Took the rubber pad off the pedals, slipped a washer on.....worked it down.....then gently pushed it thru the floor opening with a screwdriver. Then used a second washer on each pedal to give them more strength. They are kept from slipping down by that raised ridge around the pedal shaft. Besides -- who sees 'em anyway??
  8. I gave this info in another post, but maybe not everyone has been interested in the topic of that one. So, thought I'd do a new post. The place is called Antique Auto Supply, located in Arlington, Texas, which I think is a suburb of Dallas. They say they have parts for Ford, GM and Mopar 1909 to 1972. Their e-mail is antiqueautosupply@yahoo.com and their phone is (817) 275-2381 Here's a link to their website: http://www.antiqueautosupply.com/ I met an older gentleman at a swap meet last year, and he seemed very nice......believe he was the owner. They got lotsa stuff in several buildings I think. Also....YouTube video about them.....
  9. If the body of the motor is sealed, then you should be able to apply some oil or whatever in thru the vacuum tubes that come from it. You might check for a NOS one with the folks at Antique Auto Supply in Arlington, Tx.......a suburb of Dallas I believe. I think they have several warehouses of stuff, including for old Mopars. Their phone is (817) 275-2381. You can also correspond via e-mail: antiqueautosupply@yahoo.com Here's a link to their website: http://www.antiqueautosupply.com/
  10. He DID ask how many different oil pans there are........but, sadly, did not go on to say an industrial engine was now being used in the car. That info might have saved a lot of the initial guessing about the problem. So......it's a learning process many times.......one should try to give as much information relating to the problem as they can. Yeah......Andy B and other vendors probably have had a certain amount of grief due to people with odd applications. Hopefully, that's a minor portion of their business. It probably does eventually cause them to get a little surly.
  11. I measured the shoe thickness on a brake I have in the basement. The lining looks to be pretty equal thickness throughout and to be fairly new. It measured approx 1/4 inch thick.
  12. Neatsfoot oil (normally used for softening leather footwear) is good to squirt into a wiper motor with it's leather piece in there. Neatsfoot is sold in places that sell shoes.
  13. Interstate I44 in Missouri pretty much parallels 66. Runs right thru good ole Joplin here. Also runs thru Tulsa, OK.
  14. In the southeast corner of the state of Missouri, we have Mr John Teeee with his good looking P15. In the southwest corner, we have yours truly with, of course, another P15. And.....we have Mark in St. Louis (P15) to represent that area..... Also we have Austinsailor up there somewhere in mid MO ......
  15. There is a tail light like that currently on ebay.....fairly pricey perhaps at $75. It has certain letters on the lense that the seller lists.....PLYAV. Don't know if the other style has different letters. Something to check anyway. There are some other lenses plus a chrome frame on there now. Might be a bit of an education for this item. And it's free. Link to the section of lenses on ebay......http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=1953+plymouth+tail&_sacat=See-All-Categories Not that all things are there at all times.....but the parts and/or cars for sale section of this forum sometimes yields needed goodies.
  16. Seems like I remember a totem pole looking item in the front yard of a house on old Rt 66, just East of Carterville, MO (n and e of Joplin). Haven't been down that stretch of road recently.
  17. And......Fred.........it's pretty darn amazing how good your coupe looks nowadays.
  18. You're welcome. Did you check ebay to see if someone is selling the right side one?
  19. in Miami, OK.........says needs restoration. On craigslist. in case anyone interested. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/ptd/2829274178.html Also.......'48 Chrysler fourdoor for sale in Collinsville, OK -- $1350. craigslist..........http://tulsa.craigslist.org/pts/2790302808.html
  20. In north Kansas City, MO......on Craigslist. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pts/2800022698.html Just in case anyone interested.
  21. We've had about an inch overnight, but for now, the main roads are good. More snow gently coming down.....don't know how long that will last. Temp right now is about 32 to 34.....so not exactly blizzard conditions. Pic from our front porch in Anderson, MO. How's everyone else doing--weather wise?
  22. Frankie47--quote-- You sure go for all the add ons Bob..........is there a kit for the vert? [/COLOR] I've never seen a kit for the 46-48. Apparently you could get a kit for a 50 Ford........... My uncle had a 53 Ford hardtop with that "fake" cover that fits on the trunk lid. Looked pretty sporty.
  23. Maybe you can find a continental kit for it..................
  24. I do believe the 54 Savoy I owned for a while in '07 had tinted all around.
  25. It says this fits a 41, plus other later models......on ebay.
