  2. I guess the factory must have closed off the windows, judging by this picture.
  3. I see the previous owner was really covering this car's a**. It has both the third upright guard, plus that hard to find tubular trunk guard.
  4. I think I changed mine to up and down, after someone once pointed out the error of my ways........... But, they will work OK in either configuration.
  5. Typical deal........it appears seller, or someone, removed all the stainless trim. Fortunately, it looks as if they left the dash alone. Engine looks complete. Might not be all so bad.
  6. I wonder if it originally had windows in the rear doors and behind them, as it looks like those areas have been blanked out or filled in. A local funeral home not far from our house (when I was a kid) used Chrysler product vehicles of various styles. Don't recall whether they had one just like this, though.
  7. Looks real good Darren. I'm always surprised when new converts appear.....I've seen quite a few of them (at least in pictures), over the years......then yet another shows up. What's the back story on this one? Was it local.....or come from a distance.....etc. Still 6V, original engine??
  8. Thanks for the pics. I'm sure there were lots of nice cars there. I wonder what model the trunk handle on the blue coupe is from..... probably older. A bit different treatment. And......those wire Chrysler wheels add a lot to even a fourdoor sedan.....IMHO.
  9. Both mechanic type guys and musicians can probably relate to this.... Here's a link to a you tube video......pretty funny I thought. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WopdIgBG1dA
  10. I have quite a few old advertising what-nots collected over the years. I find them interesting and good decorations for display in the trunk of the Plymouth at various times. Have two or three different brands of tire patch kits. Have some old cigarette packages (with old cigs still in them)..........
  11. You might be able to use a fiberglass kit to cover holes .... the one from O'Reilly (or maybe we got it at walmart) did not have a very big piece of fiberglass cloth. Needed more. The tank of the 49 coupe had holes in both the top and bottom.
  12. Sometimes you can find a person on ebay selling the kind of car you are looking for. Some ads contain several pictures including the interior. Of course, you have to have some idea what the interior should be, because some sellers think their actually reupholstered vehicle is "original" when it's not. If that makes any sense......
  13. I've found that some meat basters, as mentioned above, work better than others. I bought a $1 cheapie which wasn't so great. You might want to spend just a bit more for a better baster. They do work to get out the remaining oil.

  15. That old saying seems to hold true somedays....."when it rains, it pours".
  16. A lot of standing on your head, getting behind the dash should do it.
  17. I used some dice for a while, even had them in several different colors, but hadn't used them lately. So, guess I can take 'em or leave 'em. Also used some dice valve caps for a while. Just a few days ago I walked behind a late model totally stock Toyota and thru the heavily tinted windows could see dice hanging on the mirror. Guess the owner likes them, but surely don't go with that new of a vehicle.
  18. Well, it sounds kinda high....but....you get some needed items with it and if it's as good as the seller claims...it may be worth it.

  20. Thanks for posting Don. I sent John and his family an e-mail. Both John and his father had black 47 Plymouth convertibles. They are in our prayers.
  21. You can see here the two holes with threads for attaching the brace. The brace has elongated holes to allow for some movement/adjustment. Found this pic of how one man tried to make his own support on a P15 coupe.
  22. Here's one view of a 46-48 Plymouth hood support.........I don't know which years had one and which did not. There is a difference in the hood spring design, to allow for threaded holes to attach the brace. And, there is a small L shaped center attaching bracket that uses two small nuts and bolts. The support by itself......... How the brace is made to give it strength........
  23. My car is done in all same color wire.....thanks to son in law a few years ago. He made tags on various wires using masking tape. The bad part is the tape kind of fizzles out after a few years.....either falls off or can't read the writing. So, if making tags, find something more permanent than the masking tape.
  24. Maybe they were working on a 7UP commercial called "the paws that refreshes".
  25. Hi Randy. That thing sticking thru there is just the end of a bolt, perhaps for the collar around the base of the steering column....I'm not really sure. Thanks for the offer of the pedal seals. These washers do just fine, so save them for your own car.
