  1. The original e-Brake cable has a cloth braided shielding over it. In my case this covering has fallen apart. Most folks just strip it off and call it a day. However I would like to explore the idea of restoring it. Any thought as to what can be slipped over it that would look period correct? Has anyone looked in to this? All thoughts and Ideas are welcomed. Thanks, Alex
  2. Based on the feedbacks, I think I will go with Roberts. Thank you all for your Feedback.
  3. Judging by some of the feedback there are different size grommets available. The P15 takes the bigger one? Ill call some of these guys today. Thanks! Alex
  4. Hi Folks Other than steal, who else sells a good fitting Filler Neck Grommet thats not too expensive? All opinions welcomed Thanks, Alex
  5. I thought to check in again. My search to find a rear end localy rear came up short. I would like to expand my options to the 49 contental US states. Anyone who has a 1949-52 MoPar 3.73 rear availble please contact me. Thanks! Alex
  6. Thanks guys! After looking for it under different title headings, I found one for less than $10 shipped. Not bad. cheers!
  7. Yes, its exactly what I did to confirm if it would help. Me being an electornics guy I have tons of capacitors in my parts bins. It works just fine, but does not have the right look. If push comes to shove, I guess Ill by one from eBay for $30. Thanks Alex
  8. Hi Gents, where is the likely place I can find a "radio noise suppressor" for the generator? its the little condensor that mounts to the generator. as a kid, I remember they were everywhere for $1-2 I checked my local parts supply and they don’t have it. Ebay wants near $30 for one. Thanks
  9. How did the plymouth badge come out? Looks like you got it figured out.
  10. Don, please play nice :-) I am of the polite kind. Not looking to upset anyone.
  11. Please excuse the repeated post. Thanks to those who tried to help, but are to far away. Please allow me to try one more time:o Anyone in the north east have a 3.73 rear from a 1949-52 they can offer? Considering the weight, I prefer to do a local pick up (with in 150 mile radius) rather than ship. I am located in NJ 08331. Thanks to all! Alex

  13. Doug Excellent feedback! Just what I was looking for. I would prefer to change only the 3rd member rather than the whole axle assembly. I know for sure my 47 ply has a 3.9 rear (stamped on the 3rd member). The rear I have makes lots of noise. Rather then fix it, I want to use this opportunity to swap out for a taller rear. A 3.73 direct bolt on 3rd member is what I am looking for. Any one know how well a a 3.52 would work in a stock Ply? so just to confirm, 49-54 is where I will find a 3.73 or 3.52 direct bolt 3rd member for my 47 Ply? Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps a good idea, however I am more so looking for a direct swap with no modifications. Any other thought? I think some 49-51 mopars had 3.73 rears. would they be a direct bolt on swap with the 46-48 ply? Alex
  15. LEDs on average use much less current. The flasher needs a certain load to trigger. Your LED lights are too efficient and do not create enough of a load for your flasher. One way to work around it is to add back the load that you too away. Perhaps wire additional light bulbs in to the circuit or change to solid sate flasher
  16. Hi Gents Its my understanding that a stock p15 will normaly have a 3.9:1 rear. Anyone know which rear would be a little lower (perhaps 3.5-3.7) and yet be a direct swap with the orginal. Perhaps 1949-51 dodge/Plymouth? Thanks Alex
  17. sounds like the transmission in your car and the one you SOLD me are both bad.
  18. Hi Folks, I am still looking to replace my noisy differential. Looking for a rear diff that is compatible with my 47 Plymouth. I am located in NJ 08831 and prefer a local pick up (100 mile radius) Please send me a PM Thanks!
  19. Thanks Harold and Aero! Good place to keep in mind. However I suspect I need more then ajustingat this point. I have been driving like this for years. I think the teath are now worn and tapered too much. Harold, do you go to any of the local shows with your car? I usualy try to make the "Friendlys cruise-in" saturday evenings (RT 9 and Ferry rd.). great show, Free, Trophies & prizes, about 300 cars on average, starts & 6pm, 3 shows left. Swing by, it would be great to meet you. Look for the only P15 at the show (Dark Blue)
  20. Thanks for the feedback. Although I am tempted, I prefer a permanent fix. what years would be a direct bolt on replacement for my 47 ply (as a fully assembled axel)? what is the stock ratio for the 47?
  21. wow itresting, saw dust! Kind of makes sense. I am very dempted to try it. what years would be a direct bolt on replacment for my 47 ply (as a fully assembled axel). what is the stock ratio for the 47? would I feel it if I went a little lower (3.55)? Thanks! Alex
  22. Hi Folks, My rear end (diff) has never been quiet. It Hums during acceleration and declaration. Its most likely due out of spec back lash adjustment. I don’t want to spend the time adjusting it as I feel Ill never get it right. Anyone have a known good rear they would like to let go? Thanks! Alex I am located in the North East (NJ)
  23. $57??? you mean you had this built for $57 ? Do you have the contact info for the place?
  24. one 3 tack spot welds that are part of the hood reinforcing (along the rear engage of the hood) broke loose. This is the area where hood is bolted to the hinge. I would weld back this spot weld. How likely will the radiating heat travel up past the stainless molding and mess up the outside painted finish (hood). can I get away with doing a quick spot weld if I keep most of the area cool with a wet rag?
