  1. Brad; I have known and quoted many times over the years that respect is earned and never given. Some folks just dont get it.
  2. Greg; Did you get the PM I sent you?
  3. Frank; Would like to see some fresh pictures after your body repairs. When are you going to rebuild and install your new engine?
  4. I ran my engine about 10 hours before installing it in my car. Worked out all the bugs while they were easy to get to.
  5. Rodney; Very nice snag on the Stude! I understand the V8 urge. But! Find a Stude V-8 with a turbo. Do not go cokkie cutter Chevy as this car is way too cool for that. Trust me you will not have regrets. On another note Jim Yergin and I are going to invade Chets private and personal space around 2:00 PM Saturday to inspect and evaluate his new (1928-29? Plymouth) purchase. You should pull one of your horses out of your barn and join us.
  6. Bob and Wanda; Exactly how many aligators do you plan on stuffing into your wagon?
  7. Pete; On my last (2 week) road trip to Georgia I also heard what I first thought was serious engine problems around 2000 RPM's when I was taxing the engine hard pulling the hills of southern Tennessee and northern Georgia. I borrowed Tim Adams timing light while at his stable and found my timing way advanced. I reset it to around 2 degrees advance. I left Tims and followed Racer Richie in his P-15 up the interstate running over 100 miles at over 70 MPH. My noise was gone. My oil pressure never dropped below the normal reading. I drove home a few days later and once again did a 70+ MPH run this time for over 200 miles only stopping for gas and relief. Oil presure held steady and my oil consumption was about 1/2 quart sence the last oil change done in Ohio around 3000 miles ago. Check your timing! I am in hopes that I can make the treck to OK but I do not yet know my work schedule. If I go you will lose THE BIG RACE so be prepared!
  8. Wow! Pretty..... I never realised just how big her canisters are. Glad she took her top off.
  9. Norm; Red X. Will not load!
  10. Sorry but I dont buy it Dennis! Must be the backwards hat
  11. I got the red X Norm!
  12. I still want to know how Dennis Hemminwgay pulled and installed his P-15 engine without removing the hood??? He must be Hudini not Hemmingway! Dennis? How many scratches did yiou get????
  13. Al; I suspect your car is an export Desoto or was manufactured outside the USA boundries. Many cars made in other countries had the Plymouth name but the Desoto front end.
  14. Is this the car? Shot these photos at Auburn, Indiana in 2004.
  15. Norm; I also sent the seller a message telling him he should remove the auction. No response to date.
  16. There are instructions on the main page of the old forum (I believe it it still available) to make such a tool using a flangette and an "off the shelf" bearing. I bought the flangettes and the bearing but never made the tool as I converted to disc brakes.
  17. Kingsway; Welcome aboard! My wife also thinks I am more married to my car than to her. Interesting history about your car and an impressive webpage. Your fendershirt looks good.
  18. Rodney; Glad you got your electrical problems sorted out. This morning I went to DC and paid a visit to the Vietnam memorial wall. I last visited the wall in the late 1980's. My visit today was as emotional as my first visit. While stationed in the army at Camp Stewart Georgia in 1966 I met a guy named Larry Fullaway. We became good friends and went to Vietnam with the same unit. This is all that is left of him.
  19. Dennis; I do not hide. And like you I actually use my real name. If my green light is on my puter is on line. But I may not be sitting in front of my puter all the time.
  20. Bob Cristwell (the guy who I bought my Soto engine from and was also my T-5 install coach) installed a 318 into a P-15. After he had the engine in place and was completing the final connections he observed that he could not pull the distributor from the engine. He had to jerk the engine back out and modify the firewall. Keep this in mind when you do your install.
  21. The quick way to tell who is incognito and who is not is to observe the color in the small circle behind your name. If you are not hiding like Norm is the circle will be green when you are logged on to this forum.
