  1. Thought you might want to see a couple of the Dodge trucks coming up on the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Arizona. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&In_LotNumber=128 And http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&In_LotNumber=1614
  2. All better now.
  3. I've got to call them tonight when I get back from work. They took my payment so it's not that. Hopefully we can figure it out and it will back on line later tonight.
  4. There are floor pans for sale on ebay right now if you can get there in time. only 14 hours left. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1951-51-Dodge-Truck-Floor-Plate_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34206QQihZ003QQitemZ130063101862QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  5. Here's the problems as I see them. I think the doors will fit as far a dimensions go. But the styles are different. 51-53 doors have a crease (body line) (?) that runs about midway through the door. It follows the fender line. With the 48-50 doors, the crease or body line does not extend as far. So they look different, though you may not catch that at first. Also, if you remove the vent window you now have a gap that will have to be filled somehow where the window post used to be. The other concern, and I don't have a way to check this, but you have both versions of doors so you can do this, I suspect that the window regulator is mounted in a different location to compensate for the vent window. It might even be a different window regulator and mechanism. so these are some things you may want to check out. I have vent windows in my doors and thought of pulling them out. After I looked at all the work involved I decided I was going to either keep them, or find replacement doors. I decided to keep them, in other words, I chickened out on that project. OK, it's New Years day and I have too much time on my hands. Here's two pictures that I hope will show the difference between the body lines on the doors. Notice the body line on the '53 stops mid way into the door, on the '48 it goes almost to the end. hope this helps.
  6. It looks good. nice job
  7. Mario's video prompts me to ask a question - What other vehicles put the radio on the drivers left side. I kinda think it's cool, but I don't recall ever seeing any other manufacturers do this. Was Dodge the only one?
  8. The man has his truck and he has his tunes. What more could we ask for? Great going.
  9. I showed a picture of hemi made by Oldsmobile earlier. Here's the write up on that engine.
  10. Just had a relook at your picture. The 611T is a 6 volt radio by the looks of the tube numbers.
  11. As far as I know, there is no reason that the 611T won't work. One obvious difference is that the speaker is a different size, which is easily remedied by getting a 5inch speaker. I don't know what the voltage requirement for the 611T is. I think it's 12 volts which may, or may not work to your advantage, depending on if you've upgrade the charging system. I also believe the 611T to be difficult to come by. One sold on ebay a few weeks ago for $350. as-is, no guarantees.
  12. Steele Rubber lists a windshield gasket with no middle divider for our trucks
  13. Anybody know what year and make that grille would have come from. I've looked at many a dakota truck, but the grilles are all slightly different.
  14. I think you're going to find your digital camera a delight to use once you get use to it. I wish I had owned one when I first started disassembling my truck. Right now it's so handy to take a picture and then post it on the internet, or here on the forum.
  15. Have we discussed this one? It's a hemi.
  16. Been saving this picture for a long time. I think it's a good time to show it now. But I'll let you guess for a while as to what is this little gem is. How many engines do you see in this picture? And What was it for? Hint: Chrysler made it.
  17. Looked in the B-2 Shop manual and a Motor's repair manual. Couldn't find it in either one. I thought this would be easy.
  18. Tony, A great Christmas to you as well. Glad to host your Ozzy section on the website. Whatever we can do to give you a boost let me know. I will get your manual up shortly. Glad the webpage is making good connections for you.
  19. Gary, welcome to the forum. You came to the right place to ask your questions. The 802 and it's smaller sister the 602 are both vertical radios used in the 1948-50 trucks and many cars as well. The 51 - 53 trucks used a horizontal radio which is a 610T. Unfortunately they are extremely rare to find, almost to the point to being called mythical. I can't ever recall seeing even one for sale on ebay.
  20. Interesting Jim that both you and I live in or near areas considered wine country. And so does Reg, only he doesn't like wine. So Reg, where is vaka country? Is that in california?
  21. Well, we all work together and we get these things accomplished. Here's a link to the DPETCA webpage with the calendar. Thanks Allan. 2007 Pilot-House calendar Please, only one per customer. Ok, yes, you can take a second one for your brother.
  22. The site is down. Allan if you want, email it to me as an attachment. I can put it up on the dodgepilothouseclub.org website for everyone and link it back to here. email it to: goldkoch (at) gmail.com (replace the "at" with @).
  23. Steven, If you want just throw them in the mail to me. If my scanner won't handle the size then the copy machine at work will. It has a built in scanner that I can download from. I've got time this week to do some of these things.
  24. Mario, that coil of wire on the back is an electromagnet. The voice coil is behind the paper speaker cone and can't be seen. Since you only have two wires I assume the ground is being used as a third, common wire. You could test this with a small battery, a 1.5volt flashlight battery of any size should work. Connect one side of the battery to the speakers metal frame (ground). touch the other side of the battery to one terminal. Then try the other terminal. The cone should move when one of them is touched. The one that doesn't move the coil is the electromagnet connection. You may even get a metal screw or something small to be drawn to the back of the speaker with the magnet energized. Let me know how it goes. Any instructions and schematics you guys can forward or mail me I'll post on the web
  25. A terrific job Allen. OK, truck guys - let's send our pics to Allen and get ourselves a terrific truck calendar.
