  1. The replacement cab mounts seem to be the same. The one under the drivers feet is a different size, but no one has that anymore so you have to use the same mounts in all four places. Vintage Power Wagon also has them. They only sell the rubber mounts. If the metal is eaten away you'll have to create your own replacements. Here are some pics to help you courtesy of Jim Shepard and Merle Coggins.
  2. It doesn't look like mine either. I have two radiators for a '53, used but in good condition. If you're interested let me know.
  3. Anyone seen a Desoto pickup like this? Almost a club cab. It's a 1952, S-3-B-108. An owner sent these to Rawge looking for more information.
  4. We have our monthly online chat session scheduled for this Sunday night, May 25th. This is always a good time of sharing information and a wonderful way to ask questions. Here's the link for our chat page: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/chat/phpMyChat.php3 Here's the starting time: Time: 5PM-PDT That's: 6PM-MDT That's: 7PM-CDT That's: 8PM-EDT Hope to see you there.
  5. I've been corrected again. Good call, Merle. I looked in Don's book last night and couldn't find it, but this morning - there it is on page 95.The X model was a B-1 Series with all the updates and improvements of the B-2 Series. But it was still considered a B-1. They were only made from August 1 to October 1, 1949.
  6. Ron Many of us have titles with a year that doesn't match the VIN on the truck. Don't know why it happens but it's common. Your VIN numbers all match so they have the accurate model and year, not the DMV title. Just watch ebay if you want to see alot of year and model numbers that are incorrect for our trucks. I think the X at the end of the serial number means it was manufactured for export purposes. By the way, welcome to the group and glad you got a Pilot-house
  7. It requires two main ingredients: Big Hammer and big puller. You may be able to get the puller from Autozone, otherwise a tool rental. This guy did a nice web page on exactly this problem. Give it a try: http://www.plymouthbulletin.com/rearbrakes.htm
  8. I checked two computers and it is working. The red X's come from a program on your computer blocking the images. There is a security setting that is not allowing the java scripting to function. Need to check your firewall and internet security software to allow this.
  9. Ok, it's a chevy. But this was just too unique not to mention. Site has a nice video description. A calliope truck: http://www.mecumauction.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=SC0508-66086 Wish we could hear it play.
  10. Thought you'd be interested in this pilot-house up for auction by Mecum. Will be interesting to see how much it actually sells for. Is there someone who get's this channel that can watch the auction? http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/F43-1950-Dodge-1-2-Ton-Truck_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ28193QQihZ013QQitemZ230252123876QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  11. Rawge, really sorry that we missed you. You're one of the "originals" in my mind and was hoping you could have met more of the group. Glad you did get to meet Tim and his collection of trucks and race cars.
  12. Now that should keep you home and off the streets for quite some time. Looks like a great project. Will be a beautiful truck when it's restored.
  13. At some point in time you're going to want to get a copy of Don Bunn's book. It's the "bible" on our trucks. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1583880879?tag=dpetca-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=1583880879&adid=19N01VSZ5NVTMWRMNCXW&
  14. It was a wonderful looking truck. I didn't get a picture of it, did anyone else? Somebody send me one and I'll include it. your father-in-law was terrific to talk with. Glad he came.
  15. Here's the pics that I have. I tried to add names, but there are many that I am still learning. Let me know if you can help with some of the names. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/gallery/v/Clements_2008/ As you can see many people had to drive quite a distance. We really appreciate your making the effort to attend our "first ever". Many attending don't even own pilot-house trucks but supported us with their wonderful cars and presence. :) :) :)
  16. Firetruck is a 1948 B1FA owned by James Crabtree. He trailered if over from Upper Lake. It barely fits on his trailer. He'll be taking it to some of the fireman's Musters during the summer. The state of California owned about 30 of them back then. That's the word I got from Jamie yesterday. Along with the truck he also brought a wonder pot of beans for all to enjoy I'll post my pictures this afternoon after work.
  17. Vintage Power Wagon has them. Page 88 in their catalog. http://www.vintagepowerwagons.com/products/parts/group18-body.htm
  18. Just one more mention that if anyone is near Northern Calif, then we hope you'll find your way to the Dodge Truck Meet this Sunday, April 27th. Tim Estrada has spent the last two weeks getting the place ready; including the horseshoe pits, cleaning out the garage, and getting the Lawn Mower Racing course all ready. I think he even has some (slower) lawn mowers we can race on! We've got the BBQ's ready, Truckin music to play and a number of people have already indicated that they're coming. Bring the family! All mopar fans are welcome, even if it's not a truck. If your truck doesn't run, then tow it on over anyway. Bring your food and use our BBQ, or we'll have some hamburgers and hot dogs available for a donation. Here's the link for more info: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/clements/index.html I hope with this we can start a few more truck meets around the country.
  19. Not sure if you just want chrome bumpers or original bumper with chrome. If you're ok with chrome bumpers that aren't original then look below at the forum below titled "What year" you'll see an example of an 86 Ranger bumper that fits great.
  20. Funny how as we get older our idea of beauty changes. This is one pretty girl. What do ya think? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dodge-Fargo-Deluxe-Coupe-Ute_W0QQitemZ320234786355QQihZ011QQcategoryZ101895QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. The cowl vent gasket has been discussed before on this forum. I think we came to conclusion that Roberts and Berbaum's gaskets were too small. I think the ones from Vintage Power Wagon worked and maybe also from Steele Rubber. Also from Mitchell Motor Parts works. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong here.
  22. We have our monthly online chat session scheduled for this Sunday night, March 30th. This is always a good time of sharing information and a wonderful way to ask questions. 23. Here's a link to the online flyer http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/clements/index.html :) :)
  24. We do have some truck "friends" in Europe and we have two members in France. I have conversed with Gary Watkins, who lives near London. He was looking for doors for his restoration a year ago. I have also heard from a gentlemen in Romania. A few others from Europe have contacted us over the years. They are all welcome to become members, just like Tony, who lives down under. We're always glad to help them out, regardless of which side they put the steering wheel.
  25. I so want one of those!
