  1. I noticed while working on my truck that the inside door handles are different. I know I can swap them around, but my drivers handle is mounted at 7:00 o'clock and my passenger handle is at 1:00 o'clock. What are others doing and which is correct??
  2. I also got a vent seal from roberts. I glued one end and let it set up. Then i glued the rest and pulled it into place. I then held it until it set up. It held for two days and let go on one end. I then glued it and clamped it into place. It held for two more days. While it was in place I found that regardless of what I tried the cowl vent wouldn't work or close correctly. I haven't worked with it lately but I plan to remove the gasket and try making my own.

  4. my 1948 b1b has 1 piece side windows. (no vents) The drivers side track that holds the bottom of the window is bad. The former owner must have thought it would be a good idea to cut it off on both ends. I could make it work , but would like to find an unmodified one instead. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS.

  13. would it work to put a diode in the line from the output of the alternator so it can flow toward the battery only. then install a 12 volt relay with a 12volt hot source tied through a closed set of points to the energizing tab on the alternator. next tap the output post on the alternator to the coil on the relay so when it starts to generate it will energize the relay and disconnect the other source from the alternator.
  14. I have converted my truck to 12 volt and installed a 12v bosch alternator. It requires a brief 12 volt connection to make it start charging that is usually hooked to the starter system when it isn't foot operated. Any idea other than a momentary switch on the dash?

  25. I have a 1949 1 ton and a 1948 1/2 ton . I found that the carbs off the two truck would bolt on ok but the intake on one was higher and the linkage had to be shortened to work correctly. I'm not sure of the carb models.
