  1. Thanks, Bob! With that exploded view and Bob W's explanation, I'm sure we can figure out how it goes. Strange they never made a view of the wind wing to go with that garnish.
  2. Hey guys...real quick here...where can I get two sets of bumper bolts for the front and back bumper on my car? Mine are trashed and some even had to cut out. Are they only being sold on Ebay or can they be purchased direct? Also, the guy that sells them on Ebay usually asks for about $50 "buy it now" for a set. Is that the going price for a set or can new ones be purchased cheaper?
  3. That's fine, Bob. Go ahead and post it later and I can submit it to the installer on the way to work with Bob W.'s description on how to assemble it tomorrow. Thanks, guys!
  4. If possible, can someone please post an exploded view of the windwing assembly on the door as soon as possible. I'm having the rubber and some glass installed in my car tomorrow and the installer needs to see the order of operations to install this. Although I kept all the pieces in a labeled baggy, I don't remember how they go back in, since I took them out a few months back and my lame manual doesn't show how to do it. Thanks!
  5. That's the site, Dennis, but holy frijoles....this guy is expensive! Just on the front center floor pan and right and left extentions, which is what I really need, it's $755 alone! This guy must cater to the rich and famous or the retired guys living of a fat pention. I'll have to think about a cheaper way to do this. The problem is that all the parts mentioned above have some rust damage on my car.
  6. Hey Bob...whatever works. I'm not worried how bad the patch up work looks because it will be covered. Evidently, the trunk seems to have no rust...surprisingly. Just need to Por 15 it, paint it, and then put a new mat in there.
  7. Tim's right...I did ask before, but like I said, I thought it was minimal rust. I know I'm doing things backwards, and that's a "live and learn" lesson on my part, but the fact is that the paint is on there and I have to do my best to protect it. We will protect the thresholds. My friend already mentioned that to me when he was looking things over. So we will make sure all of that is protected. We will do our best to make it watertight.
  8. Don: Yes, I knew about the floors, but we didn't think they were that bad; just a little patch work here and there. It may not be as bad as my friend says it is because he is known to jump to conclusions. Rockwood: The majority of the rust is mainly by the gas pedal and near the rockers on both sides in the front. There are a couple rusted supports that concern me. Again, when you have the equipment and facility to do some welding, it makes it a lot easier. Since I don't, I have to rely on those who do. I told my friend that I didn't care how sloppy it looked because like you said, "Who sees under the carpet anyway." As I was telling Don...there are a couple body mounts that are of concern. I just can't figure out how that car, being in Arizona, got such rotted a floor in sections. Allan: I already have a botched job done on my floor....it couldn't get any more botched. Though the fiberglass/Por 15 sounds like any easy fix, I would feel better if it's done right and so that no water gets in anymore. I also want to deaden as much sound as possible.
  9. Today, a friend of mine, who is going to do the patch work on my floor board, really looked things over and said that it was a little worse than he first thought. He was saying that he was afraid that it was a project that might open a can of worms. Most of the rust damage is in the front section, but there is some in the back, as well. He thought that it was strange that a car that has been in Arizona all of it's life would have that much floor rot. Anyway, a friend of his came by and he told us that instead of trying patch up the holes to just cover the floor board with Por 15 and then with fiberglass sheets. He said that this is the way some people do it. Anyone ever heard of this? Also, what was the name of that place that makes new floor boards for our cars?
  10. On my P15, it appears that my trunk was gray. I heard on the old site that wheel wells, inside fenders onder the hood and the trunk area where a certain gray. I think it also mentioned on the P15-D24 main page under "references" what colors certain parts of the car were, apart from the exterior paint. As far as the bottom of the trunk, I just had mine painted the color of the car.
  11. There we go, Norm! That solves the mystery for me. Thanks so much for posting that. So the trim did pass above instead of below, which means where the trim is on my door isn't where it was originally. Whoever redid the doors on my car replaced the panels, but failed to place the trim where it originally was and never replaced it on the back panels. BTW...what was the material they used for the original panels? It looks like it was black. Do you still have that piece?
  12. John...is jerrye937 still a member? I couldn't find him in the member's section on here.
  13. I emailed the company contact person and sent a pic of the old and new package tray with a description of what I was expecting it to look like, which was like my original. I'm waiting to see if they can accomodate me. If not, I'll see what I can do to make it as close to the original as possible. I know an upholsterer that can probably sew bthe boarder onto it.
  14. John....the replacement panels you bought...do they have the all the holes in them for the trim, armrests and fasteners ready to go? I know I can try to make my own, but the ones I have now were done so half-ass that I'd hate to try to follow that pattern. I think the $100 would be worth not having the headache of trying to figure out where to put the holes correctly. I would just need the panels because I have the fabric already.
  15. I almost forgot to mention that my package tray from REM Automotive Inc. http://www.remautoinc.com/aboutus.php arrived today. It looks nice and is the right color for my interior color sceme. The only thing is that it doesn't have a sewn boarder like the original one did and it is not creased in the middle from side to side as the original was either, so it doesn't bent with the frame below the window. Nonetheless, it fits and will look pretty nice when it's installed. I added some pics to compare how close it is to the original. You can see how bad mine was.
  16. Sounds like a company that I don't need to do business with. Also, sounds like they are insensitive to customers that suffer, due to errors on their (Robert's) behalf.
  17. Thanks, Norm, but my front panels are fine, as far as seeing what went where. It's the back panels that I'm trying to get a pic of. You didn't take pics of those (like this one you posted) before you redid them, did you? Anyway, in the meantime, I tried reconstructing how it may have been set up, going by my old panels and using the stainless strips and arm rests. This shows the passenger side door panel. I put the stainless strip right where it used to go when the panel was on the door and added the armrest to fit right over the holes where it used to go. The holes for the window and door cranks are visible. Then, I butted up the back panel, that has no holes for the trim, against the door panel and lined up the trim according to the door trim. The only thing is that even though both panels are lined up on the bottom, the back panel seems to be taller than the door panel. If I line them up even from the top, that puts the strip passing right through the window crank, so that can't be right. I'll have to say the match up in the pics would be right, but need to be sure, in case I'm not.
  18. Sorry guys...I really meant that I need to see the back panel, since my door one still has the holes to trace where the moulding goes. I just need to see where and how close it passes above or under the window crank escutcheon. The pics of the four door won't help me with the back part, but the ones showing the work on the panels do, as far as how it's done. The one showing the coupe was fine, but the seat covered up the crucial part I needed to see. Even if it's not original, but the stainless moulding is still where it was originally, that would be fine.
  19. Bob and Brendan...yeah, I'm aware of the sockets, but I need to replace the housings anyway because they are rusted out through the back and unfortunately the screws holding them in are rusted and really hard to get out. I have one used one to reinstall, but am looking for another, if someone out there has one laying around. Painting white inside them is a good idea and I'll do that with the others I put in there.
  20. Bob...when you can get to them just let me know. Like I mentioned, the color is a lot greener than in the pics. For some reason, my digital camera is not color correct. I may have to adjust something on it. BTW...what is SBC?
  21. Aw Tim...did you have to say Easter egg? You are right about it looking better when I get the trim on there and breaking up the mass of color. The wheels haven't been painted, yet. I have to take them in seperately and have them painted, but it's already covered in the price and they will be the color of the car. Also, I have to take it back to have the color sander go over some parts that still have egg shell that he forgot to buff.
  22. Can anyone on here, who has a P15 Club Coupe that is restored to original condition, post some pics of how their door and back seat panels look? Not asking to take them out, but get some detailed shots showing how the chrome trim is laid across the top and on the bottom where it separates the vinyl strip from the fabric. I need to know if the chrome strip on the back panels passes above or underneath the window crank and escutcheon. Since mine were redone and no back chrome strip was replaced, it's hard to tell. Also, what is good material for making new panels. Right now I have 1/8" warped pressboard. What was originally used? What I have now as panels are not the original ones.
  23. Mine needs replaced, as well. Where can you find pinion seals for P15's? I went to a gear shop here in town and he can fix it, but can't locate a new one.

Mike- No doubt...it does have a nice look. Originally, mine was on the car when I bought it, but I took it off. Can't remember if it was on there when you saw it or not. Who knows...I may change my mind later, but for now I like it off. (Man, I can't believe how bad I mispelled "chlostrophobic." It just wasn't coming to me when I was trying to get that posting up quick at work today.) I guess teaching Special Ed. is starting to get to me...LOL!
