  1. David- I got it from a guy here in Pomona. He has a big roll of it (well, I don't know how much is left now). I tried to buy just the material, but he wouldn't sell it to me. He would only sell it to me if he was the one doing the upholstery...so that is where he had me. The place is called Pomona Upholstery.
  2. jaguar...I didn't install it myself because I'm not knowledgeable in that sort of thing, so I let an upholsterer do it instead. He said that it fit great and he barely had to do any triming, if at all. As a rule of thumb, I don't attempt to do something that I know anything about because my bad luck has always showed me that I will live to regret it. Fred...sorry I didn't get back to you on that. That buddy of mine that has the '48 Dodge buisness coupe gave me a whole trunk latch assembly and it has the lock inside it. So I'm okay there. Thanks again.
  3. I got mine from EZ Boy Interiors. They have the original napped cotton style or vinyl already cut and ready to install. It cost me about $160, including the extra material for the sun visors. Just give the them the info on what car you have, date, style and model and they will custom make it for you from original patterns. Below is a pic of how nice mine went in. Go to this link. http://www.rodinteriors.com/headliner-bow-type
  4. Thanks, guys!
  5. Hey...would anybody know what size pin screws go through the side of the doors to hold the door locks in place? Mine have walked away and I have the locks rekeyed and ready to install.
  6. I don't know, Norm...JB Weld never worked for me. I guess I just don't have your touch.
  7. I guess I would have the 26" because I'm sure my car doesn't sound like something for granny...lol
  8. I like the Smitty I have . It let's out a nice, deep, "throaty" sound that doesn't blow out the neighborhood when you go down the street. Personally, I'm opposed to mufflers that make a loud rapping sound when you let off the gas...at least on my car. I never really liked the sound. Out here in Californnia, rapping mufflers are more common with the lowrider culture and some lead sleds, from what I can see.
  9. The L.A. basin is pretty big. What part are you going to?
  10. I don't know...it sounds great, but too confusing to me...but if it works.
  11. ...a closer shot of my buddy's Dodge so you can see the fender trim job he did.
  12. Hi Tony...Norm mentioned to me about a regional club party last Dec. 15th that I was going to go to...that was until the freeze plug popped out later that day. Anyway, the car was in the still in the shop on the day of the shindig, so I missed it. The Lake Havasu event sound s pretty cool. I'll ask Gabe about it, and if he can't go, I will go most likely. Thanks for the invite. Bill...hmmm, okay, I wasn't sure if had or not. Wasn't too sure if there was more to it. Thanks Dodgeboy...I don't hit any shows in Orange County because I never know of any. Gabe might, but I know for sure he goes out to some place there in Riverside that's kind of a place where a lot of rockabilly's gather. It's like a bar/nightclub, so to speak. Yeah, I'm sure we can get together because you are local. Nice ride by the way...I like the color. Tim...check you IM box Greg...okay, now that makes more sense. I which there was a way to get fluid drive and ovrdrive into one...or is that called automatic transmission?...lol
  13. Last weekend I went and saw a friend of mine down in Hunnington Beach who has a 1947 Dodge business coupe. He hadn't seen my car since how it first looked when I had gotten it. We took turns driving each other's cars because he wanted to see what the overdrive was like and I got to try out his fluid drive. I have to admit...that fluid drive is a trip...especially when you can stop and not have to put the clutch in. What was the purpose of fluid drive anyway?
  14. At that price I'll put up with the noise...sheesh!
  15. Wow...it's too bad you guys couldn't angle the centerpost like on the P15's. Below is a pic of my buddy's '50 Ford chop. It had the same straight centerpost, but the guy that chopped it fabricated the post to slant.
  16. Hey Norm...stop killing the guy. Sometimes you can be so cruel to people.
  17. That or she's looking for a pocket profit that her husband doesn't know about. As I hear the rain falling hard right now, I think of those cars getting water insde of them. Shame!
  18. Norm...you're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad! LOL!
  19. Here you go, Bill http://www.andysautocenter.com/
  20. Yep...I know where that place is. That Russian guy thinks he's selling '53 Corvettes by the way he prices things. You should have posted a bigger pic of the '42 coupe that he wants $11,000 for.
  21. Wow...I hope they gave him his money back...lol. That's what you get when you buy a Mercury (Ford). He should've bought a Plymouth.
  22. This is why I'm always out driving my car around. Even though I'm 43, you just never know. Some people spend thousands of dollars on restoring a car that they only take to a show once in a while or go out on a drive around the block on Sundays. I haven't put in nearly a fraction of what they have put into their cars and I take it out whatever time I get and enjoy the thing. Life is short.
  23. I don't think it was a P15 he traded if it was in July 1941.
