  1. Norm, if that was right above your house, then that was the fire that burned a year before the 2003 Grand Prix fire. If I recall, that fire burned from the westto the east...sort of ending before Claremont. The Grand Prix fire burned from the east to the west, due to the Santa Anas. I watched that fire you have posted from up on Wheeler that night and could see San Dimas Canyon Rd. going into it. It looked like a road going into a firey hell...so to speak.
  2. I painted my trin something called Italian Red...it seemed the closest to the original.
  3. Ooooh...that's too cold for me. Our blood out here in California is thinner than yours. In that case, I would want two heaters.
  4. Ha ha...it does look quite canny. Hey, I got my Carter carb in and it looks pretty sharp. All ready to install on Saturday, if possible. This Holley is flooding on me after I turn off the engine sometimes and won't start back up. Also, the heat control valve stopped working...so maybe we can troubleshoot it. The middle brake light works...it was the bulb, even though it didn't look bad.
  5. Um...I live in California too, and I'm making good use of my heater right now..especially on those nights it get's into the 30's and 40's and even sometimes in the 20's. Nothing feels better than to be inside a nice, warm car when it's cold as hell outside. I'd think it over before getting rid of it.
  6. Thanks, Merle...it worked! I just wanted to be sure.
  7. I'm trying to install my original ignition switch on my P15 and right now I have the GM switch that came with the wiring kit. I didn't put it on, so I'm not sure how the wiring from the new switch would transfer onto the old one. The new switch has three prongs that are labled ACC, BAT, IGN The old switch is labled: COIL, AM, RAD/GA The wire are still on the new one and I figure the wires that are sharing the same prong on the new switch would do the same on the old, but want to be sure. Probably is this is a simple thing, but I always want to be sure. I guess I need to know how the wires would transfer over from the new back to the old. (i.e. where do the wires that are connected to ACC go on the old...etc.) Thanks, Darin
  8. Eric...you beat me to the punch. I was just going to post that company. Here are a couple other patterns, as well. The price isn't too bad either for a foot. I figure a 4 x 4 piece would do me well. This first one seems pretty close to the original style: http://www.rubbercal.com/Corrugated_Composite_Rib.html http://www.rubbercal.com/Corrugated_Ramp_Cleat.html
  9. Don, I guess I'm blind because I just checked that site out and saw everything, but leaf springs...unless they are under a different name.
  10. Actually, Don, the first time it happened the battery was connected. That's how we found out it was sparking. After that we disconnected it, changed the fuse, reinstalled the switch, connected battery, and then proceeded to turn on the headlights and got the same results...even a little wiff or smoke. If the battery wasn't connected, we wouldn't have been able to troubleshoot just where it was shorting out when it touched. All it was was the sound of small sparking and the lights went out...no firework show of sparks.
  11. Norm...tell the folks our experience with removing and reinstalling my headlight switch yesterday...lol
  12. Robert...thanks for posting that. I always wanted to know what the entire mat looked like. When I got mine, it was quicly falling a part from being old and brittle. I could tell that it at one time matched the mat in the front. I could make one from some rubber matting they have at Home Depot, but I don't think I could make it go up on the side like it shows in your pic. Bob...whne I was getting the info about the front mat from Sal, he told me he had no trunk mats. If anyone is looking for front mats for the P15...Sal's the guy to get them from. It's A-1 quality and fits great. It's exactly like the original and on that note...is worth the money.
  13. Okay...I saw the rubber mat, but I thought it was a a pic of an old one. It looks used and dirty. It'd be good to see a closer pic, like in the other photos, of the pattern of the rubber.
  14. Did they make it for you then sell it to you or did they tell you they would make it then put it on Ebay where you would have to bid on it. This is what they are telling me. They have it posted not to contact them about selling outside of the auction. I mean...what's the big deal? Just name a price and leave it at that. These guys think they are selling gold or something and everyone and their mother will bid on it...that's the impression I get.
  15. The only thing is that they won't sell them to you....I checked with them already. They want you to bid on them. I'm trying to get them to show me what the rubber mat looks like, which they say is on the auction, but I don't see it. Just the fabric ones.
  16. I need to see and exploded diagram if the clutch linkage assembly for the P15 so I can see what pedal return spring I am missing and where it goes, etc. My spring fell off sometime back and the pedal doesn't return to the correct position after engaging it. Thanks!
  17. Don...$65 is not bad...I paid $85 to have the two glass pieces cut...($5 a piece). My winshield wasn't scratched, just bubbled around the edges. Nonetheless...it had to go.
  18. Wow...I wouldn't know what years would be interchangeable. You don't have any idea what cars they came off of?
  19. Ed, these aren't from the Plymouth, but they would look close to these.
  20. Well, Norm, maybe we can put on the list for this coming weekend. I did go ahead and order the heater control valve from that place, so hopefully it's here by then. I really have to get these wipers working correctly before there is any driving in the rain, as well as the cowl vent rubber gasket.
  21. Tom....that's why I really haven't wanted to deal with him because of his "I'm mightier tho art" attitude. The guy acts like he's the only one on earth with this stuff. I don't like his "no refund" policy, even if the item is wrong or broken when it arrives.
  22. No, come to think of it...he's seem to have fallen off the face of the Earth, in a sense. I had his email address, but don't anymore. I can try to email him through the site. Thanks for that info.
  23. That's fine, just PM later and we can talk more about it. Take care.
  24. It looks to be made of brass. So I don't know how that would weld or how the adhesive would take to it.
  25. The round pivot that comes up from underneath the cowl, in which the wiper arm is pushed onto on my P15, is stripped. The grooves no longer hold the arm on and it flies off when I turn the wipers on. Does anyone have any spares they could sell or part with? If not, where can I get one? I think the round piece with the grooves comes off, so I would probably just need that. Also, the new wiper arms I got from the Early Ford guy just don't seem to have enough tension in the arms to make the wipers wipe the water off evenly. These don't have the regular springs in them. Instead, the tension is set up kind of how a leaf spring is...if that makes sense. Anyone have any ideas how to put more tension on those?
