  1. A 230 Mopar Flathead six is probably better than even a 59AB Ford V8. They were rated at the same horsepower and I know for a fact that a stock 54 Plymouth will take a Stock 50 Ford in a drag race. Plus, the Mopar has way better cooling.
  2. I've had the most luck with rockauto. They seem to have bought up a bunch of NOS stuff.
  3. Have had a lot of trouble finding a heater core for my 54 Savoy. Don't want to have to trust a used one, but also don't want to pay 3x what a heater core normally costs. Does anyone know of an available heater core that fits in the box and has pipe locations close enough to use?
  4. There isn't anything wrong with red wheels. Don't let all of these snobs tell you otherwise.
  5. I'm sure there's a thread about doing it here, but I can't find it. I have a line on a slant 6 and 4 speed in an 82 d150 for cheap. Anyone know how much firewall massaging will have to happen?
  6. I'm trying to remove the water tube from my 54 Plymouth and its stuck pretty hard. There is a lot of rust in there which I assume is the root of my problem. Is there a trick to getting it out?
  7. The Savoy I recently bought had a Stromberg bxves-3 on it that I'm pretty sure is junk. Engine won't rev and there doesn't seem to be any hardware to make the choke work. Anyway, I had a new (rebuilt by Autoline) Rochester BV from a 66 Bel Air project I have and the mounting bolt holes were right so I threw it on the Plymouth and it instantly ran better. It even revs now, even though the vacuum advance isn't hooked up at the moment. However, the Rochester doesn't have anything on the carb to operate the choke since on the Chevy 250/powerglide this carb is designed for has the heat riser on the manifold. New carbs are expensive and the Carter carb that, from what I can tell, is right for a Plymouth can't be had from United Carbs anymore and I can't find any place that has reasonably priced ones anymore. So, as it stands right now I'm thinking I may just keep the Rochester BV on it. Does anyone know if there's an electric choke conversion kit for the BV? Any advice or ideas on what I should do?
