Is this right?

Does this look right to you?

I used Mopar Performance enamel engine paint p4529148. It is the correct color acording to this list http://www.cowtownmopars.com/EngineColors.html. I have also seen this list several other places.

No it's not silver enough.

@#@$%, what is the right paint then? I have por20 which is much more shiney. However brushing it on leaves brush marks and does not look good. What comes in a rattle can that works?

I guess everybody's monitors read a bit differently. But that looks pretty good to me. Should'd loose any points on that.

That color is PERFECT!!!!!! If you look at factory photos of engines on the line,

thats exactly what they looked like. It was a flattish silver. Also---the "Everdry"

sparkplug boot adapters WERE actually a bright metal color. They may have been "Cad" plated. I have several NOS sets that are in the MOPAR box yet, and thats how they look to me.

Looks great to me. Wait til you get the other stuff with contrasting colors on there, like fan, hoses, distrib, oil filter, Air filter, all that. You'll love it.

ever-wet stuff as your engine could soon look like this.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to leave it as is. The ever dry system that is on the engine now has been on the car for at least 30 years. I have a new old stock set and it is indeed bright metal.

Most people that I've seen redo there engines make the mistake of a more modern silver tone that's much more "glittery" than stock...tends to scream wal-mart rattle-can. I think yours looks spot on. Good job.

Yours looks right on in my opinion, plus you got the Mopar paint. How can you go wrong from buying a factory color from the factory?

That's what I thought, but having seen so many bright silver engines it made me wonder if it was right.

Used POR 15 High Heat aluminum. Is maybe between the two shown

earlier.
