John Burke Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Well today we moved on off the brakes and shot the paint on the 49'er...Spent a couple of days in prepping...Used Centari Acrilic Enamel....simply called "marron Color"...I had them add extra mettalic which lightened it up a bit so I added Black to darken it back up...It took one gallon of paint some reducer and hardner I saved a little bit for the wheels and touch up....it's definatly not factory but we sure like it...John Burke Quote
Normspeed Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Looking good John. Did you mask off the trim, or remove it for the paint job? Quote

John Burke Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 Looking good John. Did you mask off the trim, or remove it for the paint job? I removed a few things but masked off the stuff that was easy to do...John Quote

steveplym Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Very nice! I really like the two tone color. That Dupont single stage enamel is pretty good stuff. Has a nice shine to it. Quote
T.Tom Meshingear Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 I thought this was an interesting idea for a way to finish the exterior of your car and if you get tired of the color just peel it off and change it. Could it replace painting? You can see more pix at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135662 Quote

Acrually it reminds be of the vehicle wraps that my friend does at her shop http://www.blastgraphicsllc.com/ You could even do it up in diamond plate Merle Quote
