Dodgefran Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Hi All, I've got the disc brake conversion kit from Rusty Hope and have been reading about a proportioning valve. It's going on my 38 Dodge RC truck that has rear drum brakes. I couldn't find one at Autozone. Any suggestions where I can find one? Thanks. Quote
greg g Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 funny they have a tech page on them. Lots of folks running w/o them w no problems. http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/04/ca/a1/0900823d8004caa1/repairInfoPages.htm Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I would think any hot rod shop would have one. Speedway Motors, etc. Quote

PatS.... Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I used one from a wreckers years ago on my '50 Dodge. It was from a 75ish Chevy:eek: Malibu...worked fine. I think it was $10. Quote
HughForrest Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 On my '38 Chrysler (RustyHope disc kit and S-10 power booster & M/C, 1980's Mopar drum brake rear) I absolutely needed an adjustable proportioning valve. Without it there was no way of getting the brakes anywhere close to right. BTW the Speedway valve is a Wilwood with a Speedway sticker stuck on top of the Wilwood sticker. I peeled the Speedway sticker off mine to make it classier... Quote
