JIPJOBXX Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 No this was given away to potential customers or customers who bought a new 46 Dodge. As you can see its very interesting to look at and has great detail. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 Interesting story goes along with my little Dodge. A friend of a friend had it and he sold it to me for $5 and then he said if I wanted the 5 back latter he would just give it to me. Ethically I got the car for almost free. Quote
Ed Griffin Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 You did real good because those are not cheap when you find one. I've seen them on ebay time to time but could not justify buying one for the amount asked when I could get a part for the "big" Dodge. Even the prices of those are cheap compared to the "toy boy" cars that were offered not long ago. Remember those? The highly collectables.... . Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Very cool promo model you have there! Out of general interest: Does any one know, when were the first promo models made/given in the States? I suppose that in the fifties there were promos for each & every make & model presented by the dealers? Do they do that still today in the States? (Not in Europe any more, at least not in my price class...) Quote
Robin (UK) Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 I just bought this Tootsie Toy on Ebay. It's supposedly a 41 Chrysler. My 8-year old son and I are going to file off those fender mounted side lights, strip it and repaint it in sumac red. Silver details to grille, lights and bumpers and a red and silver interior and it'll look quite a lot like a certain P15 convertible!!! Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 The big wreck!!!!!! 41 Plymouth versus 46 Dodge! Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 Oft to the paint shop to be painted like its older brother. Quote
