Rodney Bullock Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 One of the actors:( hit the curb with my white walls, the picture car folks cleaned them very well, The scuf is still there:mad: what's the best way to save the white wall? I don't have curb finders on the plymouth so it's expected:cool: They paid to replace the two tires so I'm not out anything any thoughts? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Rodney, that's the pits. I would try a Brillo pad since it has texture like steel wool. Also I would use my whitewall brush that has the metal bristles. Maybe even a little gentle sandpapering. To try and smooth out the scuff. Quote
55 Fargo Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 That is what happens sometimes , a guy here in Winnipeg, where a lot of Hollywood productions are filmed, rents out his 48 Chrysler, they scratched the bumper in one movie. They paid to have his bumper re-chromed, at least they pay for the damage.............Fred Quote
claybill Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 i lent my old balloon tire bicycle to a movie set...worth about 2 grand....it had a basket on it!!!! they used it to go get sandiches at the deli...left it outside unlocked!!!!! i took it home! no more.! bill Quote
oldmopar Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Turn all 4 tires into black walls by reversing them and you get to pocket the new tire money . Ed Quote
p10plymouth Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 There was this guy on the hamb that made whitewall using a hand metal grinder .. If he can do that you should be able to us a da sander on the tires go slow at first and smooth the mark out .. should work.. good luck Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 Ed, I could not imagine my car without the ww. Greg has blackwall however his car looks great with them because the car is black. The picture guy was so sorry it happened, I could not get mad also the money the car made was compensation enough, after he and I cleaned the car yesterday you can barely see it. I lnow it's there so for now I can live with it. I like the movie thing right now and don't want to give it up plus they are doing another movie in Aug and I might get three cars in that one:) The Studebaker will be in a new york and a drive in seen here at the Bengie's drive in That's an all night shoot I might try and make that, maybe I can be an extra with a girl necking at the drive in:cool: yeah a love seen that last all night oooo that's sound nice:rolleyes: Hey it's acting:eek: Quote
Young Ed Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Rodney if you can barely see it I would just pocket the money and keep using up those tires. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 I have done the white wall sanding and it was very successful I will do it again my tires are near new:) Quote
PatS.... Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 I would leave them on and point out to everyone who would listen that the car was in a movie and one of the actors did that...hopefully it was a famous actor...who else has a story like that??? Quote
