Hi fellas, I need some help with my gas sending unit. Does anybody know were I can buy a new one? Bernbaum claims to have them in his catolog but he doesn't. I have a 48 dodge deluxe, single wire to the sending unit.

You can try the one wire sending unit that JCWhitney carries. They will work for the one wire Dodge and they are abt 30 to 40 bucks, forgotten how much now. Purchased one awhile back when someone brought up they worked for the one wire Dodge.

If that's the problem, could just be just the ground as greg g mentioned.

Roberts shows them in the catalog for $85. Bob Amos wrote an article in our region newsletter about adapting a much cheaper universal sending unit and has given me permission to post it on my web site. You can find it here:

However you should go through some diagnostics before replacing the sending unit. There have been a fair number of threads on the topic here recently so a site search should show up something.

As pointed out by greg g, bad grounds are a very common problem and a new sending unit will not fix that.

I hate it when someone else is faster at typing than I am. :)
