fireman_033 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Well it was a short one but I moved her under her own power round the yard yesterday. If I only had a floor and some brakes I could be burnin up the highway. Quote
Arthur1947 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Who needs brakes when you have no floor? Just do it Fred Flintstone stlye. Best. ARTHUR Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 The first time I moved my truck under it's own power, it also had no brakes, or body. I hooked a spring to the park brake linkage to make it "spring applied". I also strapped a long bar to the brake linkage arm. I could then push the bar forward to release the brake, and let go of it to apply the brake. It worked enough to be able to drive the chassis in and out of the shop while I finished the rest of the brake job. I couldn't leave it in the shop during the week. I would have to park it outside and bring it back in to work on it during weekends. Merle Quote
TodFitch Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 That first time a car moves under its own power after it has been apart a long time sure does put a ear-to-ear grin on your face. Congratulations! Quote
