sam knopik Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Does anyone have a template or dimentions for the interior panels? If so, that seems like it would be very useful on the Piliothouse Truck Knowledge page. Quote
jschultz Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 If someone has a sketch of the dimensions, I could draw them up in cad and print it to a full size PDF that people could take to kinkos to get printed. I have not removed mine yet, so I don't have a template. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 I sell the templates for all the interior panels for $40 including postage. I donate $10.00 of each sale to the Pilot House Club. Quote
Allen I. Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 What do you use for backing fo the material? The PO of mine had some thin plastic sheeting that seems to have held up well but the material on it is horrendous, fuzzy, and getting old. I killed a naugah a while back and have the hide. Just have not had time to install. Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Allen, good thing the naugahs aren't on the endangered species list. lol Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Hopefully you got a baby Naugah. They've got the best hyde. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 What do you use for backing fo the material? I purchased door panel board from a local upholstery shop. After I contact cemented the vinyl to the pieces I cut out I took it back to the upholsterer and had him stitch around the edges and add some piping around the perimeter of the door panels. Quote
MBF Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 I understand those naughahs are on the protected species list in Pennsyltucky and Oklatana-better get them while their still available. Quote
Guest Scruffy49 Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 I'm doing mine up Chris-Craft style...steamed and bent wood for the ceiling, flat panels for the kick panels and doors. The original owner was a big fan of wooden boats, so is my father in law, so is my wife. Me too come to think of it. Mahogany, cigar box cedar (Spanish/Cuban aromatic -mildly toxic- mahogany) and western red cedar. They'll outlast the cardboard originals and I'm not putting vinyl in a non-work truck. Don't want my truck to smell like a box of cheap bandages. -Scruffy49 Quote
