windsor8 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Got the Dodge a little closer to leaving the drive way this weekend. Hung the fenders and started fitting up the radiators hoses. I'm glad that I followed my buddies advise and drilled alignment holes, so everything went back together the same way it came apart. I drilled alignment holes where the fenders mount to the radiator core support and at the side of the firewall. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Car is going to be nice when done. Good idea about the alignment holes. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Thanks for the idea on the alignment holes. Keep us updated on your progress. Dennis Quote
greg g Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I don't see and "if's or "ands" in the garage however your collection of butts is impressive......... I notice the car is coming along also. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 If you notice, ol greg doesn't miss much in a photograph. And then, he's pretty poetic about it to booty (er, ah, boot) . Quote
Allan Faust Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Lookin good.... and BTW the title of for anyone who cares... well that means all of us... we can't wait to see everyone on the road with their project, or staying on the road with their completed car.... (are they ever complete?) Allan Quote
RobertKB Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Allan, good to hear from you again. How are things and how is the job situation as I know you were looking for something else? Also, how is the engine project coming? Maybe think about moving to Alberta as we still need good people out here. Let's have an update. Quote
PatS.... Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Lookin good, nice to see it goin back together. We all care, that's why the forum is here. Keep us updated. Quote

Also, how is the engine project coming? Maybe think about moving to Alberta as we still need good people out here. Let's have an update. Things are still up in the air...one major job possibility in the next couple of weeks... hopefully... alberta could be a possibility... problem is the logistics of a move.... as for the motor... it is paid for, and my wrist pin bushings (the last part I needed ordered and "pressed in" is being done) so that part is pretty well complete except for the rebuild (but I want to paint it first) and as long as it is in storage at the machine shop, all the better for now. I may have the use of a buddy's garage in the next couple of weeks (he moved up north a ways, and since his house is paid, having me in the garage will make some movement around the place... so I can't wait.... RobertKB Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Sounds good, Allan, and thanks for the update. Hope the job situation works out for you. Good luck in the future and if you ever do get out to Alberta, it would be great to meet you and I am sure Pat S. in Calgary would feel the same. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 I am always glad to see progress with a forum members car, plus you know I love the coupes:D That idea with the alinment holes is a good one I wish I would have done that as it takes forever to get things back to the way they were. Quote

You can bet if I'm ever in the area, I'll pass by you, Pat and bun by Fred on the way up there..... wish I had this car in 1980.... I was in Calgary and Lethbridge that year... just wouldn't have been able to drive it cause I wasn't 16 yet..... Allan Quote

Lots of work out here, property prices are cooling off a bit, rentals are more reasonable, but it surely is a crazy place to live.(Calgary and Edmonton) I was down near Lethbridge last week to pick up the Fargo and the pace and atmosphere was quite pleasant...just can't deal with the constant howling wind. Moving is a complete nightmare and uprooting a family is worse. A move of 3000+ miles is, well, not for weak of heart. Good luck on the job front. Money isn't everything. Quote
