Rodney Bullock Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 Does anyone here have a chrysler 35-36 coupe? Are parts for this car hard to find? Is there anyone repoing parts for that car? A friend and I were together this morning and he took me to a place that had a couple of old cars. The one car that stood out was this 1936 chrysler coupe, looked like a bus. coupe however it had wood spoke wheels. I think everything was there however I have never seen one so I don't know if it was missing anything or not. They want very little for the three cars however if I can't find parts it's useless to me. Anyone have one of these? Quote

I don't know a whole lot about Chryslers, but the last year for wood spoke wheels for Plymouth was 1933. I'd be a little surprised if a later Chrysler had those available. Sounds like either the wheels were swapped (unlikely) or the car is older than you think. Do you have a photo? Quote
PatS.... Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 I think it's Jon Robinson over on the DeSoto forum who has 1936 Chrysler. He racks up a whole lot of miles on it. Might pop over there and ask. http://www.duricy.com/~desoto/despatch.shtml you have to apply to get access to the forum Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 For Crashler pictures go here. http://www.autogallery.org.ru/chrysler.htm Rodney; I think I spotted your Plymouth when I flew over your house this morning. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted May 11, 2008 Author Report Posted May 11, 2008 Don, You should have stopped over and got that hose:D Tod, you could be right as I don't know the difference between a 33-35-36. I do lknow that this car has been sitting in the same place since this ladies mother was around. The ladies husband had a saw mill behind the house and her husband was killed on the job. She would never talk about sell the cars and trucks there, she passed away and now the young lady and her husband want to get rid of all the stuff back there, they have that Chrysler, model TT truck and a ford panel truck. Pat I will take a look at it. If this car is a 33 I might just get it. What I will do with it is another story. I don't think my hands can take another project. They are still swollen from the stude. I can't make a fist Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 In '36 Chrysler made the Airstream and the Airflow. The Airstream was the very streamlined model with headlights integrated into the hood while the Airstream had the more conventional articulated headlights. For most Chryslers from that era the mechanical parts are easy to find, the body parts aren't. Quote

I can't make a fist Rodney, I can sure sympathize...makes life miserable for sure:( No-one has come up with a reason for my right hand and arm to be in pain and numb and 1/4 strength yet. Pinched nerve? Carpal Tunnel? Crushed Disc?. Can't make a fist, can't use a hammer, can't even turn a nut on a bolt. Oxycontin is like a jelly bean...does nothing but cost money. Been like this since September. I hate these stupid machines like the Cat scan and MRI, I only barely fit and I am a bit claustrophobic if I am jammed into a tight place. Damn...sorry about the rant. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Posted May 13, 2008 Well Pats being a Zen Master and all you should not have a problem with the mind:) On a serious note, I can't stand those machines either, I have been in twice and the last time I could not take it, I asked to be removed. They want to give me a seditive but I said no. There are some things that the doctor can not isolate. These past 5 years have been hard on me as I am or was very active. I now can hardly get out of a chair. My kids who are grown just can't believe it. They look at films of me and tell their friends how great their father is and when they cme to the house they see this old man that can hardly walk.(look who's ranting now) I do have my good days. You keep doing what you love no matter how much pain because the joy out weighs it everytime. I got this little ball that I squezz it loosens the hand up Quote

Pinched nerve? Carpal Tunnel? Crushed Disc?. Pat, When I was having similar problems with my left arm they put me in all sorts of therapy, which did nothing. After I complained loudly, they did an MRI on my neck and discovered that the nerve bundles that control the arm and hand were being pinched where they came out of two vertebrae (sic). The holes they come through were closing up! They operated on my neck 5 years ago, no problem since. MRI can be a pain, but they can tell you things you'll never find out about otherwise. Marty Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Marty, Same thing with me. Pain all down my left side. Felt like someone stabbing me in the side with a knife when I inhaled. Couldn't figure it out. They did an MRI and discovered the same thing: Two discs had worked their way out from between the vertebrae and were squashing my spinal cord. They operated and it was instant relief. I have permanent nerve damage in the last two fingers of my left hand, though. Nothing serious. Quote

Marty Interesting, my chiropractor told me much the same thing...that the upper radial nerve coming out of C6 was being rubbed by a calcium build-up. Apparently the MRI did not back that diagnosis up. The so-called real doctors dismissed the chiropractors theory but have not pinpointed the problem. The chiropractor also said that surgery would be dangerous and his treatments wouldn't be...surprise surprise:confused: Time to go doctor shopping again. Good thing I got the MRI and Cat discs so I won't have to do that again Thanks Marty, Joe, I won't give up yet...close...but not yet Quote

The operation is not a big deal; they just carefully used the medical equivalent of a Dremel tool to open them up. It took less than an hour in the operating room, and I went home that afternoon. I was back to work in a little over a week. Definitely time for a new doctor! Marty Quote
