Anyone know the part numbers for points and condenser for a 1938 plymouth? They usually have the parts I need but it's getting harder and harder for them to look anything up from the 30's. It's much easier to tell them the part number for what I need.

Sorry but I only have the part numbers for the earlier Delco-Remy (1933/34 Plymouth). But if you do find the numbers for the later AutoLite (1935 and later 1930s Plymouths) please let me know so I can add them to my parts cross reference at http://www.ply33.com/Parts/

On the P15-D24.com portion of this site under the "Parts" section the NAPA part numbers for points is given as CS851P or CS725A.

Hope that helps.

Tod (Or anyone else needing the info),

Back in the late 90's when rebuilding my engine I tried to buy the old Autolite plug numbers from the parts store. Of course, no one had that number and they couldn't cross reference it (or didn't want to try). So.........I called the Autolite company. When they answered I asked for the technical service department. Once there I ask the guy what was the cross reference for the new numbers. Only took about 5 or 10 minutes on the phone and I had the number so I could go to the store and buy them. Might want to give that a try, worked for me.

From my 1989 Standard Motor Products/Blue Streak Ignition catalog:

1935-38 Points: AL-5661X

Condenser: AL-118X

Rotor: AL-98

Cap: AL-96

Maybe NAPA can cross these numbers to their own, or you'll find a store that sells Standard parts. Hope this helps.
