Normspeed Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Nice day, and seems like everyone decided to come out to the local burger joint with their cars. Saw some cars I hadn't seen before. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 that hood prop sure is high tech Quote
Normspeed Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Chrome batwing air filter on a Caddy. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I can understand the prop rod on those brand X cars..the hinge design is such that the springs will kick the hood up in the rear as you try to close it...most people do take them off..they are a tad rough on the hood itself...I bet yours is just missing the springs... 47heaven Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Norm...was this at Legends? I always seem to miss their cruise nights (or days). Looks like there were a lot of "old man" hot rods and customs there. LOL! Quote
Guest rockabillybassman Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 My trunk prop is currently a broom, still with the head. Quote
Normspeed Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 The hatch on my teardrop uses matched pieces of electrical conduit for braces. 47Heaven, that was legends. 1st Sunday of the month. This is the first one that hasn't been rained out since November. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 are you missing the rear hatch guide and latch braces? as in both left and right...only the right one latches the left is a guide...I can send you templates if you like Quote
Normspeed Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Here's all I got. But it works pretty good. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 my bad...thought you were referring to the lift gate on the wagon... Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Normspeed, you must not of got the winds down the hill. We had high winds here on Saturday & Sunday. Our cruise night was canceled on Saturday, I cuold not see the house across the street due to the blowing sand. Dennis Quote
Normspeed Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Just a little breeze down the hill Dennis. We've been fairly lucky this year, most of the Santa Anas haven't affected the San Gabriel Valley much. Quote
cwcars88 Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I also have to use a hood prop on my 57 chev that is a heavy hood, even with new springs the least amount of wind will make it slam shut. Quote
busycoupe Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Those pictures are feeding my cabin fever. Here in Massachusetts it was snowing last weekend. Right now it is 50 degrees and raining, but it is supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow with either rain and/or snow. I can't wait until the warm weather and the cruise nights start again. Usually in May around here. Quote
