pilotman23 Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Hello- I am new to this forum and have a few questions for you guys. I have a 1950 B2B 5 window cab, 4 speed on the floor. The engine has recently rebuilt and runs pretty good now. I need door glass (left and right, plus the right side vent glass) and both windshield pieces. I also need all of the weatherstripping (for the windshield, door glass, vent glass, corner and back windows) I also need the weatherstripping for the hood. Where can I find all of this and what kind of prices am I looking at? Also, I need the two lower chrome grill bars. I have the top two and they are in good shape, but am missing the bottom two. If anyone is selling either or both of these, PM me because I am likely interested in them if they are in decent shape. Thanks for all the help in advance, Jim Bodecker Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 All your glass can be made at any local auto glass shop if you have the panels that are still intact If they are cracked you can still use them for patterns. If the glass is missing all together, someone on the forum might be able to hook you up with a pattern. Try Steele Rubber for your window rubber. Their prices are more than other suppliers, but the quality has been found to be better by other forum members. A word of caution, this stuff is not cheap, but if you want a good fit then it's worth it in most people's opinion. www.steelerubber.com Try Roberts motors for the hood rubber if Steele doesn't carry that. He also carries other things you might find you need. www.robertsmotorparts.com/ Someone on the forum might have the grill bars or you can watch Ebay. Occasionally they come up for auction. Hope this helps. Dave Quote
grey beard Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 HI Jim, The stainless grill bars you seek are very scarce. If you can find any - in any condition - grab them. A gent in Fresno by the name of David Turner repairs them to perfection - he did mine and I am very pleased. Good luck hunting these parts. With a Dodge, this is half the fun. JMHO:) Quote
David Muma Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 There are some grill bars on sale on ebay currently. Quote
pilotman23 Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Do you guys happen to know how much (roughly) it wold cost to get the bottom two rechromed? There is a parts truck I have access to and it has the two bottom bars, but they are painted black. They are pretty straight and I think they would be a good candidate for chroming if the price isn't too high. Anyone know of a good source for chroming? Quote
greg g Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 If they are just painted, remove the paint and polish the stainless. That is the advantage of the stainless trim. Is not like chrome. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 There are plain steel bars and stainless bars. And I dont think chrome plated plain steel ones would match the shineyness of stainless ones. Quote
