Whether you are for or against Hillary, this is too funny not to share with all of you! :D :D

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogical researcher, discovered that Hillary Clinton's great-great uncle, Remus Rodham, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription: 'Remus Rodham; horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.

Judy e-mailed Hillary Clinton for comments. Hillary's staff of professional image adjusters sent back the following biographical sketch:

'Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.'

In a small North Georgia town a newly wealthy family wanted their daughter in the United Daughters of the Confederacy. That requires an ancestor who served in the service on the Confederate side. They paid a researcher a good bit and sure enough he found a Ledbetter who had served in the Georgia Militia during the war. But he did not go quite far enough- after she had been inducted into the UDC someone went a little further and checked his military record- which ended abruptly in about 1863 when he was hung for desertion. Caused quite a flitter in the North Georgia chapter of the UDC. All true.

funny yes, but if not true, why pass it on?

i would look closely at the people starting this stuff. what is their reason?

who are they tryiing to reach?

think about it.

Humor is the reason.

No-one in thier right mind would hold something that happened hundreds of years ago against anyone!!!

Humor, plain and simple...which was the only reason I posted.

I'm Canadian, can't vote there so again, just for a chuckle nothing deeper.

Mark Twain, our nations greatest humorist, never let the truth stand in the way of a good story or joke. In that great tradition I am proud to laugh my ass off at Pat S post. Bless all Canadians! Damn the self-righteous and humorless among us!! Say, did you hear the one about Cheney and Obama being related, TRUE and FUNNY, imagine that!!!

Olddaddy,

In the back of my mind for years I have wondered about the family resemblance between Cheney and Obama. Thank you for pointing out that Cheney is Obama uncle. The more I see them in my mind the more traits they have in common. :D
