Young Ed Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 Finally found a decent pic of one of the 5spds I'd like to try. Out of an early dakota. Will have to find a cheap one at the u-pull yard to experiment with though. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 Good new Good news!!! Just talked to a guy who has done this swap in a 39-47 pickup. He said no frame mods required. He said the only mod he did to the cross member was weld brackets to the front to attach the stock S10 tranny mount. If he was closer I could actually buy his setup as he pulled it for a slant 6 auto swap for his wife. Quote
woodscavenger Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 If he's not close to you, who is he close to? Maybe someone else would be interested. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 If he was closer I could actually buy his setup as he pulled it for a slant 6 auto swap for his wife. Probably a good swap depending on what his wife looked like and how well she could cook.... Quote
Young Ed Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 Sorry Shane wrong direction. He was east coast. And Don I figured someone would make that joke. The swap was so his wife would drive it too Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 No way, Don, one wife is quite enough. Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 In the above picture of the Elmer Stange engine , that should be a 1960 Chrysler industrial engine 265 c.i. he is using 3.9 rear gears ( as per the literature I received with the installation kit . ) To Ed in the twin cities ; I sent a return message to you , need your address .
