Merle Coggins Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I have been on the lookout for a "Fluid Drive" emblem for my 1950 B2C truck and have a post in the "want add" section of this forum. Now for the dilemma... Glenn (aka morson82) was kind enough to contact me regarding a pair that he found, but I declined his offer because they were different from what I had. Then Reg Evans was kind enough to let me know there was a set of emblems for sale on ebay. (these Mopar guys are so helpful, aren't they?) But alas they are the same ones. I thanked Reg politely but informed him that they don't match what I need. However they apparently do match the ones on his 1950 truck. So what gives? Mine looks like this and the ones that Glenn is selling, and what Reg says match his truck look like this Does anyone else have a Fluid Drive truck, or car, that can let me know which emblems may be correct? It seems odd that Reg and I both have 1950 Fluid Drive trucks, yet the badges are different. What do the cars have? Merle Quote
Ed Griffin Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 The 46 to 48 cars dont have a badge like either of those, not one at all on the hood. Rear bumper and on the dash but nothing like either of those. Quote
David A. Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Hi Merle, I have a 1950 B2B and it has the same "Fluid Drive" emblems that you are looking for. I also need a pair however as mine are broke. Good luck in your search! Quote
townwagon Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Merle, I have seen the style you are looking for, but I forgot what year truck they were on. I have found two sets of the ones you don't want, and both were on 51-52 style trucks (I did not get the serial numbers). The 1948-51 parts book shows part number 1296 370 for the fluid drive badge. The 48-53 parts book shows part number 1296 370 up until B-3-B Serial Number 82226347 and after that serial number it is part number 1280 276 for both B-3 and B-4. The 1948-50 parts book I have does not list the fluid drive emblem. Nor does the B-2 suppliment I have that covers the X trucks. In section 23 of the 1948-51 parts book, D-13790 there are pictures of both styles of badge. The one you want is on page 483 and the other style is on 484. The same holds true for pages 23-3 and 23-4 in the 1948-53 bound parts book, D-14467. This still does not clear up what part number was for which badge, there may be a third badge out there that we don't have an image of yet. I could not find a picture of the Fluid Drive badges in the 48-50 parts book Page 104 of Don Bunn's "Dodge B-Series Trucks" shows a truck with your style badge. Page 112, and 123 show the other style badge. I hope this helps. Eric Quote
47Plymouth Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Glenn mine are like the ones you are looking for. My truck is a 52b3c. Jerome Quote
Vintrader Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Merle, I had a 50 fluid drive a few years ago and the badge was in pieces. But it was a script style and the mounting holes where in the same spot as yours. Hope this helps, Good luck in your search. Dutch Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 So, sounds like maybe either badge could be correct. Nice truck vintrader ! Quote
Dale Uhrich Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 It might be a long shot but I was watching TRUCKS tv show the other day and they had name tags made for their truck called OLD SCHOOL. The company that made the emblems was on the net under "auto jewery". I am not real sure of the right address. I guess it is motorheadjewelry.com Quote
