sjaakslinger Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 I have a model 53 Comfort Master heater in my '47 Plymouth. The fan only works when fully pulled out. Should it have 3 speeds, like the switch does? If so...am I looking at a faulty switch or fan resistor wire? Dennis Quote
Sniper Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 Most like the blower motor resistor is bad, not uncommon. But it could be the switch, a meter can answer that. Quote
sjaakslinger Posted February 21 Author Report Posted February 21 Thanks. I'll check the switch first. If it's a simple switch like the headlight switch it should be repairable I guess. Resistor would be different... Quote
greg g Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 Usually, the default is the blower running at full speed, and 6v. The resisted settings were probably 3 and 4 v. Mine still works all three speeds. It likes to run a bit at , then switch down. I think you can still buy those old clamped on universal rotary reostat switches but they get very hot if not at full power 1 Quote
