OnlyMopar Posted October 16 Report Posted October 16 The actual question is,has anyone ever done a bench test? I have completed the vast majority of a total rewire of my 47 Dodge Custom, which was included the complete removal of the dash and gauge cluster. I would like to bench test/trouble shoot it before installing it, have any of you done so, if so any pointers on how to do it or things to avoid would be appreciated. Thanks Quote
oldodge41 Posted October 17 Report Posted October 17 I've bench tested a few fuel gauges. I used a 6 volt lantern battery, a known good sending unit and some wire. Quote
OnlyMopar Posted October 17 Author Report Posted October 17 Thanks for response. Waiting for sending unit for fuel tank/gauge. Have checked mechanical temp gauge and mechanical oil pressure gauge. Using regular 6 volt auto battery to check switches for lights and fan motors. A slow process for sure. Quote

Conn47D24 Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 My D24 dash was rewired - built from from re-wood grained metal to install. I did not bench test it however I painstakingly followed the old tagged harness and the wiring schematic. some continuity tests for good connections that's all. All came out fine. Take your time and make sure of good contact and grounds. Quote

May I ask where your high beam light indicator is located, a pic of the dash with it illuminated would be most helpful, thanks Quote
Conn47D24 Posted October 22 Report Posted October 22 Above the speedometer there is a chrome bezel with left and right turn signal indicator lights in the center of that is the high beam light Quote
