Installing horn wire on steering column

Does anyone have any pictures of where the horn wire comes out of the steering column or advise on how to get a wire down the column and out the hole.  I have no trouble feeding the wire into the column until it bottoms out.  the problem is where and how to get it fished out.  the only hole I can find is located close to the arrow in the attached picture but about half the hole is blocked.  I can barely force a piece of wire into so I have no idea how I can fish the wire out.  Should I be loosening the compression clamp I have circled so the steering column can be moved to better gain access?

If your steering box is the same/similar to the 1938-40 models, the wire comes out at the bottom. Visually draw a line, parallell to the steering shaft and continuing right through the box and look where it would come out. In order to get the wire in there, you can try pushing it from the bottom-up, or use a tiny solid wire to pull it through (similar to what you'll use to get it through a wall in the house, etc.

Ivan beat me to it but....Look at the very bottom of the steering box, that's where you should find the hole.  Fish a stiff wire up through that hole and out the top.  Then attach your horn wire to it and pull the wire back down through the bottom hole.

Thanks.  I will give that a try.  I have one of those small endoscope cameras from harbor freight I when I ran the camera down the shaft it appeared to be solid at the bottom.  Now that I know where I should be looking, I will take a closer look.  It is possible it is clogged up and needs to be cleared.

I would only add that the wire does come out the steering box and not the side of the tube.

I personally would run a small stiff wire up through the column, catch your new horn wire and pull it down through the column.

Would seem like a impossible task to feed the wire from the top to get it through the steering box.
