bach4660 Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 how far does gas pedal travel? I just re-installed and it is about 1" and seems short from what I remember. Linkages all work from engine bay, but I can't see them from the cab when I step on pedal (waiting for someone to stop by so I can watch from engine side what happens). Quote
Los_Control Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 I had a issue the other day when installing my toe boards and trans cover, gas pedal. The rod wanted to go almost straight up in the air and had very little travel. I had to remove the toe board again, If I pulled the rod straight out and rotated the swivel part on the end of the rod to the top .... then the rod came out horizontally like it should and have full travel again. Not sure if this helps, is just what happened to me last week and had to figure it out. Not sure how much travel I have, bet it is almost 3" any ways .... Ok I just looked, it is over 2"-2.5" Quote
lostviking Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 I'd suggest looking at the picture in the part manual for the proper installation of the rod. Mine has full throttle, and matches the pictures for a 1946. Perhaps they changed it in the 48 and up. Does it connect to the top of the pedal (46 does) or the bottom? Either way the parts manual is cheap and it has pictures. Quote
