OUTFXD Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 Break master cylinder on Jaquiline failed... again. Decided to get a new one rather than attempt another rebuild. Problem is the new one did NOT come with a pedal pin shaft. Mushroomed the heck out of the pin trying to get it out of the old master cylinder. I am already tapping into next months funds, just to purchase the master cylinder. The pin is another 125 dollars. Anyone have a cheap short term fix so I can hobble through January? My buddy suggested a grade 8 bolt, would have to get kinda creative with that. Thanks in advance! Quote
Sam Buchanan Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 (edited) Can you grind down the edges of the "mushroom" so the pedals can be reassembled on the cylinder? Be very careful with this, the pin is extremely safety critical! Edited December 27, 2023 by Sam Buchanan 1 Quote
OUTFXD Posted December 27, 2023 Author Report Posted December 27, 2023 Good suggestion, however some of the edges have cracked, If I where to grind them down I would still have cracks where the C clips are inserted. and I wouldnt feel safe driving her like that. Quote
Sniper Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 I got to imagine a machine shop wouldn't cost that much to replicate? 1 Quote
