Gentlemen,

our new arrived 41 Business Coupe has its factory rubber trunk mat.

Unfortunately it’s hard like a cookie und breaks easily.

Any scource to buy a new one in original style?

Or any idea how to soften the original mat?

Thank you

Joe

Really trying to keep it original rubber or are you willing to have an upholstery shop make a carpet liner replacement?

I've never found anyone that repro's those.  Your best bet is to clean it with armor all or something.  I actually like the griots garage rubber cleaner best.  If it's really brittle and you like the original look, I found a roll of trunk mat material from somewhere and...cut and paste...I was pretty happy with this look.

Weatherguard makes a universal, trim to fit, mat they list for a 41 Dodge.  Looks nothing like stock though.

If you want to go that route and are looking for something more original looking, Home Dept sells ribbed rubber matting you can trim to fit using your original as a guide,=.  Not going to look 11100% original, but it'll look it more so than the Weatherguard mat.

Andy Bernbaum has started carrying reproduction, original style rubber floor mats which aren't original looking for the trunk, but they do have the right era look, in my opinion, and you might be happy. Not cheap for a trunk mat, but your other choices are pretty clear. Lots of places to get ridged rubber matting by the yard that are close to the 1941 pattern.

Restoration Specialties has a pattern which is pretty similar-looking and not too expensive
