My photo car is a 1974 Datsun 260Z.  I custom made the frame and built the motor [1957 blown, injected 392 Chrysler hemi].  However, my question is in reference to a 1949 Dodge half-ton truck that I recently purchased. I am trying to identify the rear differential on the truck.  I believe it is from a 1948 Packard car, but that seem bizarre.  I would appreciate any help ya'll can offer.

P.S. The Datsun is street legal (I have tags, tires and insurance).  The view is not a problem as I am praying with eyes closed anytime I drive?.

You might get more help if you post your question in the Mopar Flathead Truck Forum on this site. All I see in your first post is the picture. (Very cool by the way) No question until your second post. I once had to replace a rear in my 71 IH pickup. I found the same rear in a 59 Ford pickup. I suppose its possible they used the same rear in Packards as your truck. It is also very possible someone just put it in there as it was what they had at the time that suited their purpose.
