Peach
I’ve called and searched everywhere known to Google. Does anyone know where to get a rebuild kit for a Carter MO-1531 fuel pump? I recently came across a 49 Plymouth Special Deluxe and am trying to get it running on its own but the fuel pump check valves are stuck. I can’t find a rebuild kit anywhere for the dual action model. I’m also in the market for a dealer shop manual (reprint, PDF, or original). I see generic ones for multiple years, but nothing that would be like the original. And… I need to rewire the car. I wouldn’t mind sourcing a electrical schematic that shows the gauge wire used for the different features. I can figure out the wiring, but I don’t know the draws to gauge it correctly. Much appreciated in advance!
desoto1939
The 1946-50 service manual for your Plymouth will all work for your car. You do not need an original a reprint will be good. Consider using at least 14 gage and higher for your rewiring. Contact Rhode Island wiring they has lots of premade year specific and car specific wire harnesses available Rich hartung. Doug&Deb
The service manual will tell you what gauge wire you need. Rock Auto sells a reprint manual fairly cheap. They also show up on eBay and Facebook marketplace if you want an original.
