SwannySwanson Posted May 18, 2023 Report Posted May 18, 2023 So I tracked down the missing link... Which was surprisingly easy. Now when I rebuilt the carb, there was a description of what hole to attach the linkage on on the bottom lever (the top is the acceleration pump). However, for the life of me I can't find it and I can't remember. Any ideas? Quote
Solution Doug&Deb Posted May 18, 2023 Solution Report Posted May 18, 2023 The center hole is recommended for most conditions. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted May 18, 2023 Report Posted May 18, 2023 The hole to the left in the photo, summer, short stroke. the right hole for winter, long stroke, per the Shop Manual. 1 Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted May 18, 2023 Report Posted May 18, 2023 Been running mine on the center hole from TX to NM to MI to NY and now in ME. No problems until recently, which have nothing to do with the pump setting. 1 Quote
SwannySwanson Posted May 19, 2023 Author Report Posted May 19, 2023 Thanks! I knew someone would have the answers here. This is the widest knowledge base of vehicles that I've been part of. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 FWIW - The manual also says that running the car with the summer setting all the time will provide "slightly better" fuel economy, but at the expense of low end performance. Quote
