rebuilding tailgate

B3B high side box.  I'm rebuilding the tailgate and am working on the top rectangular edge currently. If someone would be kind enough to measure the length of that section, I'd appreciate it.  This truck used to belong to a service station owner and then by a farmer who used it to haul feed to the mill for grinding so you can imagine the condition it was in.

The hinge section was all Swiss cheese and has been removed with new steel waiting to go back on.  Once the top is trimmed to length, I can rivet the chain brackets back on and then determine the placement of the hinge section.  A new tailgate would have been easy but there's no challenge in that.

Think I can give you measurements you might need for this project .....Tomorrow.... Still not sure what exact measurements you want.

Top part of the tailgate.  It has a rectangular shape. From one side to the other, bedside to bedside.  I don't need the height or width of the rectangular part. Just the length of it.  It's going to be in the neighborhood of 50 ".  Might be 50 ", might be a bit less.

Thank you.  That's the number I needed. I'll trim a 1/4" off each side and move on to finding rivets for the latch brackets.  I had rust and metal tears under them so they had to come off.
