Just a opinion. Same time I have seen the prices of Mopar climb high in the last couple years .... $12k seems low for the car you describe. Last week at the grocery store a carton of eggs was $11 .... Cars are going up also. I'm not trying to talk you into buying the car .... I suspect you are hesitant spending the money to buy the car. .... Looking for someone to talk you out of it. Actually sounds like a good deal to me .... buy it & drive it. You just need to make a decision .... A carburetor really has nothing to do with it. Heh. You're getting completely the wrong impression. The only reason I'm hesitating is I'm waiting on my tax return to show up and square a few things away before I make a move. Where I'm sitting right now, if everything goes to plan, I'll have the car in my driveway before Valentine's and I'll be driving it to work before March. I'm not asking about this carb swap because I want someone to talk me out of the car. I'm asking about it because I actually love the friggin thing and want to know if I can make it daily-able with what I already have on hand. I've already driven it, I've crawled underneath it, I already have a plan-of-attack for when I take delivery. The entire point of this thread is doing a little research into what parts can fit so I can streamline that plan. I can't really drive this thing to work if it's puking raw gas down its throat to the point it barely runs, after all, and if I can throw the YF on it I can get it on the road much quicker than if I have to order a rebuild kit and/or send the carb on it now for reman. allbizz49 Posted January 16, 2023 Report Posted January 16, 2023 I don't think anyone is trying to talk you out of buying the car. I definitely am not. If you want it bad enough, go for it. If you want to run the YF, make it happen. Nothing on these cars is rocket science. If it were me, I'd chuck a Ball and Ball on there and be done with it. Quote
Kilgore47 Posted January 16, 2023 Report Posted January 16, 2023 The carbs on these old cars are easy to work on. Many times you can take one apart and clean it up without a kit and get the engine running much better. You could try that before you re route everything for the YF. I'm surprised that the dealer hasn't tried to get it running better. There could be something other than the carb making it run bad. You may want to have a compression check done. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted January 16, 2023 Report Posted January 16, 2023 I don’t know enough about the YF other than the linkage may not match up. That said if you’re capable of modifying the linkage to make it work go for it. I recommend keeping things as bolt on as possible in case you decide to go back to the original carb. Quote
DJ194950 Posted January 16, 2023 Report Posted January 16, 2023 Just a thought but a carb rebuild parts supplier sell a replacement carb for B&B's as seen in the link attached. Mikes carburetors.com . B&B replacement DJ new-complete-carburetors.htm Quote
