Conn47D24 Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Hi all. Noticing something new today. My carb is "damp" with fuel. Not just one place. See pix. Leak, or a mist overflowing from above? Any experience with this condition? Quote
Conn47D24 Posted December 29, 2022 Author Report Posted December 29, 2022 PS. It was a professional rebuild and is working great. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Wipe the carb clean and run the engine in the garage. See if you can pinpoint the leak. It may be as simple as tightening the top screws slightly. You can also contact the shop that rebuilt the carb and see what they recommend. My leak ended up being the brass bushing that the dash pot goes through. 1 Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Mine did the same thing a while back. "Loose" top screws were the culprit...they only tightened up no more than a 16th of a turn, but the leak stopped. The car had been through a few hot / really cold cycles from being parked outside in the winter while I painted another car in the garage. I think that was the culprit, it was the only unusual thing I'd done with the car. Quote
Conn47D24 Posted December 29, 2022 Author Report Posted December 29, 2022 Thank you very much. Good idea to clean and watch. Hope it is loose Quote
